So neither King or Labrie would count against the limit and signing Tassone and Beskorowany would not affect it either.
I didn't know that.

I had 44 too. I just forgot to add King even though I was talking about him, but like you said, that doesn't matter. They still would have 6 open contracts regardless of King and Labrie.

A request; anyone here who have been following your Iowa farm team and has insights on Pushkarev, could you be kind enough to give an evaluation of him on the Pens board: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=681316

He is with us for a try-out presently.
Thanks .

... which was the last time Pushkarev was in North America.

Anyway, he's skilled, soft (although he can occasionally line up fairly big hits) with a questionable work ethic... basically the prototypical Russian (yes I know he's Kazakh).

You can add Beskorowany to the list of prospects the Stars have signed. TSN is reporting that he signed an ELC yesterday with the Stars.

Sorry I don't have a link for you right now.

Article on Fronts first game: http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1758582

From the team website: http://www.kingstonfrontenacs.com/ne...-of-the-season

Quote:
The Fronts got some good news prior to the game, as goaltender Tyler Beskorowany and defenseman Taylor Doherty returned to the lineup from their NHL camp and made an immediate impact on the game. Beskorowany was easily the best player on the ice, stopping 37 of 39 shots fired his way and Doherty was a welcomed addition to the Frontenacs blue-line.
Stats for the game:
Tyler BeskorowanyGPMINGASOGAAWLOTLSLSASVSSV%
9/17160202.00100039370.949
Season160202.00100039370.949

You can see the 2 goals against and 2 saves.

Next Game: Tonight, 9/18 @ Kitchener

I wouldn't count on him playing. Beskorowany played for Dallas Wednesday and Kingston Thursday. He admitted that he was exhausted after 2 games and a 4 A.M. flight out of Dallas.

Edmonton Oil Kings (Tomas Vincour) seem to be in a similar transition as Dallas.

http://www.edmontonsun.com/sports/ho...71326-sun.html

They've played a defensive system their first two years back in the WHL, but they are going to open up some offensively this year.

First Game: Saturday, 9/19 vs. Calgary

I think Ondrej Roman is going to miss his 4th straight game with his Czech team today. He played 1 game with a junior team (at least I think they are a junior team) earlier this week.

Saw Besko in action last night.

My thoughts...

Was very solid between the pipes for Kingston tonight. Made some huge saves at the end of the game, including a knob of the stick save on an Andrew Agozzino wrist shot from the slot. He challenges shooters, using his size to his advantage and I think he's vastly improved his reflexes and lateral mobility. His biggest strength is the way he takes away the bottom of the net with his pads. He still needs to work on his five hole and his rebound control, but the skill level is there. He completely shut the door in the third period, when it mattered most, and proved that his acquisition was an intelligent one by Kingston. He should have a big year.

Beskorowany looked like a MONSTER in the 3rd period. Best goaltending display I've seen in Kingston since Raycroft was the Razor here facing 50 shots a night.

Excellent. Both seem to have pretty good upside. If they work out at all, and the guys the stars actually drafted turn out like I think they will, this will end up looking like one hell of a year for Dallas.

Beskorowany is in goal tonight, and he's allowed a goal on the 1st shot of the game. Labrie is playing tonight too. His team is up 1-0 in the first.

EDIT: Something may be wrong with the shot clock.

Shot clock was messed up. Period ends with 12 shots against but 1 goal. Game is tied 1-1.

After 2 periods:

Beskorowany had a rough 2nd. 3 goals on 10 shots. 4 goals on 22 shots for 2 periods.

Labrie is -1 with no points and 2 shots. Team's up 3-1.

Kitchener tied up. 5 goals against now. 3 games in 3 nights may have been a little rough on him.

EDIT: And Kitchener just took the lead.

Gatineau wins 3-2. They've started the season 3-0.

Ondrej Roman was back today his team won again. They've actually started the season 5-0. Roman was on the 4th line and had no points.

Kingston lost 5-6. Beskorowany gives up 6 goals on 34 shots. He said he was exhausted after his 2nd game in 2 nights. Looking forward to what he says about this game.
