I'll go with Gionta or Hossa, but Sather isn't done yet...

Gionta out of those listed. Gaborik could very well turn out to be the worst signing by far, but that signing is such a gamble. Whereas we know Gionta was way overpaid.

I'm surprised that Hossa is "winning" this poll, as his 5.2 million cap hit is lower than he would have gotten from just about any other team. Still, with the Blackhawk cap troubles, I suppose I can understand why he would be the consensus choice.

I've got to go with Gaborik and Havlat, especially Gaborik. Shelling out huge money to guys who are injured so often almost never works out.

It's hard to go against Matt Walker, but for the money he is making, I went with Gionta.

I went for Hossa, not for the amount he'll be making, but for that ridiculous lenght. I mean, do you really want a 42 years old player with a 5.2 cap hit on your payroll. If anything happen to him (injury, KHL contract, etc.) between now and 2021, the Hawks will be in deep shxx.

I don't really want to comment on those ridiculous term signings like Hossa's. It will be a very good deal for quite a while and then it will depend on the change of circumstances how bad the deal then will be.

Since I don't want to spend my time guessing on that I will go with Scuderi, Walker being 2nd.

Before you guys jump on the Gionta bandwagon keep in mind that Gio has great hands and speed.

We HAD to get him or a player like him because that's the system we now have.

Kovalev was paid 4.5m/4years and he scored an average of 25 goals. Gionta is younger, quicker, North American and grittier and averages the same amount.

I'm glad to see that there are some other people out there who agree with me on this. Walker and Scuderi's contracts may not be as much of a handcuff as the Hossa or Gaborik sigings etc., but it's ******* ridiculous to be throwing around this kind of money at two guys who are at best a 6 or 7th defensman!

I gotta say Gio, though I love the guy.

He's just not worth that contract.

Not a hard choice for me....

Who wants Cammalleri for 6 million?

Gionta is also being vastly overpaid...more of a 3.5 million dollar guy, tops.

Gionta - $5 million/year for a guy who has scored more than 30 goals and 60 points once in his career? No thanks.

If you are talking about perceived value and point production then Gionta is overpaid, but if you are talking about heart, Gionta is worth it. He'll do everything he can to win.

Thats why I voted for Gaborik

Gill and Walker, I wouldn't want them at league minimum.

The contract is front loaded, meaning they just pretty much found a way to circumvent the cap, and he can retire or be bought out after maybe 8 years and everyone's happy.

No votes yet for Spacek? I guess the Habs made too many bad signings to choose from...

Can't be Gionta... he's the Brain.

I'm surprised about that, though. Team needs aside - you wouldn't pay $1.6 mio to upgrade from Scuderi to Gionta? Or even $3.3 mio for an upgrade from Walker to Gionta? Because I know I would.

I'm only talking in terms of salary per performance. I'd rather have Gionta making $5 mio than Scuderi making $3.4 or Walker making $1.7 mio. Who is also a defenseman, by the way.

I'm thinking the Gaborik one will be the contract people are moaning about half a year from now. However, this offseason has been much better than the last one.

remember, last time gionta played alongside gomez he scored 48 goals, if he can hit 30-35 this season, that contract could turn out to be a great one
