If you look on the Kings website all these guys Elkins, Zeiler and Segal are listed on the NHL roster....
Losing Army and Boyle gives the Kings openings on the 4th line...Ivanans is the only lock at this point....Richardson has been mentioned in trades so who knows his status...
Clune is also a guy that might take a spot as well as Westgarth.
LW
Ivanans
Clune
C
Elkins
Richardson
Lewis
RW
Westgarth
Zeiler
Segal
Who do people think it may come down to?

There are just more options for both the 4th line and Manchester. I think they would rather Moller play in Manchester than the 4th line, at least that is how I think. They should put him on the third line with Zues and Simmonds and see how he does.

I honestly think Purcell is a great fit on the 3rd line...throwing a playmaker out there with a guy with a great wrist shot like Simmonds...and a crease hog like Handzus.

Yeah, he would fit well too. I am just saying that the skill youngsters should be kept to just 3rd line and up or assigned to Manchester.
I think by the end of the year it will be Clune-Lewis-Westgarth....I see Richardson and Ivanans being dealt. Elkins and Segal to Manchester and Zeiler is the 13th forward.
Agreed...I just don't see a spot for Moller until someone gets hurt.
Moller did just fine playing on a third line of Handzus and Simmonds. He adds some skill and shooting ability on the checking line and has the work ethic to be responsible defensively. Putting him in the AHL after a full season in the NHL is counter productive and doesn't make any sense. He's proven he can play in the NHL, what good does it do him to play in the AHL? This isn't Teddy Purcell, Brian Boyle or Matt Moulson we're talking about. Moller's biggest weakness is his strength, that's it. Once he gets stronger, he's going to be a threat and will eventually fill Frolov's spot on the wing in the top six.
That is the big question...who plays the LW with Handzus-Simmonds...The top 6 are decided...Kopitar, Frolov, Brown, Smyth, Stoll and Williams....
One of Purcell and Moller is headed to the AHL because whoever doesn't end up with Simmonds-Zeus will be on the 4th line and I don't think the Kings want either of those guys on that line.

Top six are not decided. As it stands now I think only Kopitar, Frolov, Brown, and Smyth are locks. Stoll would be next then Williams. We really have no idea on Williams at this point with all the injuries. Do not count Moller or Purcell out of the top six. I'll go

I don't know about Purcell on the 3rd line. Isn't our 3rd line the shutdown line? I agree that Purcell would add a nice dimension of offense but for our 3rd line, we need someone who has more defensive responsibility and I don't quite see Purcell being that guy.
If anything, I think Purcell's days as a king are pretty much over.

Murray talked alot last year about running three scoring lines and not the typical 2 scoring lines, 1 stopper line, and 1 energy line. Handzus and Simmonds have the ability to fill the scoring/stopper line. Adding Purcell to the line makes sense. I prefer Moller there. I agree Purcell is on his last legs. He must prove himself in camp or he is gonzo.
Richardson - Handzus - Simmonds
Clune - Lewis - Ivanans
If this is our bottom six, we are in deep trouble. That bottom six equals almost zero secondary scoring. No playoffs with that set up.
Put in the Skill! Oops, I forgot Murray is our coach. Crush the competition by being one of the top hitting teams, lose 2-0 because he does not play the talent. Maybe we will move down another two spots and get the seventh pick in the draft next year. But its a moral victory folks, right? We will be tough to play against, but we will lose. I'm tired of losing. Give me some skill. A lot of other teams seemed to have figured this out. Why can't we?
