Wow, way underpaid. There are probably bonusses linked to that contract.

Still, I expected a 1-2 years contract. I expect a great season from him with at least 25-25-50 if PP time. Looking at the assets we have, I expect him to be on the PP.

Kind of thought it would be a longer deal but at 803k for one year, I can't complain.

If it's 3 years like that little ***** from TO, then yeah. But if Pleks signs for 1 year, after his awful 2008-09, he shouldn't get more than 2.5 M.

It's a little funny that Guillaume said what he said yesterday and the deal is signed today. Very nice number for us. People love to rip Gainey for overpaying UFAs, but he usually gets sick deals on his RFAs.

Kafka, bonuses can only be awarded to players signing their first contract (ELC) or aging vets. So this is 803 K only.

I wonder how they came up with 803 and not just 800. Either way, nice deal.

Pleks is not worth 2.5 million. 39 points?80 games last year on the number 2 (sometimes 1) line. Hope he does not sign a long term deal to further restrict the Habs re salary cap.

wow lats at 800k and chips at 500k? great work on those deals!

i think this is a case of 'show me what you got' for one season and then they will get the reward next season.

i know they are both still young, but i feel this is the make or break year for each of these players, and im expecting them to rise tothe occasion.

i expected 800k for chips and about 1.2 for lats, im surprised at the rates they signed for, and that means there is still some cap room left for other moves. i do not expect more than 2.5 for pleks...

We have one power forward on this team and you want to trade him? Al contrario, the guy is a gem around with the team will be built.

As for the deal, I am convinced there are bonussed that should get its salary over 1.3M$. And for his future, I am not afraid: he will get a big contract starting next season.

I think they both signed the qualifying offer, in other word they can't do less money than that.

You're so convinced that you don't even know his contract does not allow for bonuses! Ignorance is a bliss.

this means Lats is expecting a big season this upcoming year..win/win situation for Gainey

I like the attitude shown by Latendresse..he could of accepted a 2 year deal at more money but he thinks he'll be worth much more after next season.
