I was checking my account on the bluejackets.com site to see if my ten game package had been posted yet, and sure enough it was (just no dates assigned to them):

Kings
Sharks
Avs
Wings
Stars
Blues
Sabres
Canucks
Hawks
Capitals

Looks like I'll have to go online to buy my opening night tix, as I didn't get the luck of the draw in my allotment.

Just checked and mine are there too. 20-2-1 plan F gets opening night. Couple things that stand out for plan f is that we get Pittsburgh and for some reason we only get the Wings once at the very end of the year.

edit looking at CBJnuts list the Wings game on plan f must be the last game of the year.

I don't underestimate OSU Football, I just realize there is enough interest in opening night to get around 18k in the building. If this was game two at home, different story.
I didn't say that Nationwide wouldn't be rockin'.. just said that the dude who was completely dismissing it as a non-issue was underestimating football in Columbus. Nationwide will be rockin', but the TV ratings will be lower with no doubt in my mind. And I wouldn't be surprised if Nationwide wasn't full. I think it's likely that it will be, however.

I'm a hockey fan in Columbus, you don't have to tell me it's all about who I hang out with.

Schedule is up on NHL.com and I hate it. The number of Central games in the last month is horrible, 3 of our last 5 are against Detroit.

February looks important as far as gaining some momentum

5 games in a row at home before the Olympic Break, definitely need to take advantage of those games

I'm probably in the minority but I don't like the fact that we have no true home and homes with anyone this year. It's always fun and good for rivalries to play home one day road the very next or vice versa against the same team often times on Friday and Saturday. Oh well. We do have a few that are close though:

Sat Dec 26 @ DET
Mon Dec 28 VS DET

Thu Jan 14 @ CHI
Sat Jan 16 VS CHI

Wed Apr 7 @ DET
Fri Apr 9 VS DET

My other first impression of the schedule is the last five games should be real tough, four of the five against the central division with three of them against the Red Wings. Should be a tough way to close out the regular season, hopefully we have a playoff spot secured already.

We've got Western Canada as a 3 games in 4 nights in early Jan, along with a 3 games 4 nights in California in early March.

Hope the team "bonds" quickly this season on the road with so many away games by the end of October including all the other Western Canada & California games (weird combos though).

I only count 12 back-to-back - that is low for us.

Agreed. Five of the six February games are at home, and the first game back from the Olympic Break is a home game. Those games could be as Rimmer says, "critical."

What's the deal with us playing the first game of the season against the team we played in the last game the previous season?

End 06-07, start 07-08 vs ANA
End 08-09, start 09-10 vs MIN

We also have 3, 4+ game home stands, with one being a 6 game. So it all evens out in the end.

I like it that way. IMO, you should be playing the teams in your division in the last month of the season.

Wow. Vancouver doesn't have a home game between January 28th and March 12th.

Granted, the Olympic break is during that stretch but still, 14 straight road games is pretty brutal
