January and February look brutal with a lot of traveling. They play on the west coast then New york tree days later on Jan 9 -12.

The January trip doesn't look too bad since there is alot of off days and 3 days off before they play the next game in New York (against the Islanders). The ugly one is the February trip where you are @PIT, @SJ, @ANA in a 4 day span. That should be pretty ugly.

February trip looks the worst of the two, and road trips never seem to turn out too well...hopefully that will change this season.

Gonna try to get to the Washington game and the Philly game, which will be cool, my two favorite teams from my childhood. Maybe if we get back to Michigan, we will see a game, I have to drive through Pitts. with a big winged wheel on my truck...should be fun.

Do they do this on purpose? Longest home stand is 4 games! Longest road trip is 5 twice! As much as I like Olympic hockey that break is going to send me into hockey withdrawals.

Okay, so umm, I thought the point of this new scheduling was so that we could see our teams play a different Eastern conference team twice a year.

Instead, we have a home and home with Buffalo and Pittsburgh again and the only change is Washington. No home and home with the Rangers, Bruins, Leafs, Habs, Flyers whatever. Seems a bit silly.

The road trips suck every year. This is what comes from being an Eastern time-zone team playing in the Western Conference; it doesn't work well in our favor.

I will be heading to NY in December to see the Wings take on the Rangers at MSG. Going to try and convince my friend to maybe also attend the NJ game the day before. That would be awesome.

Detroit plays at home on my Birthday (March 24th). I know where I will be spending my birthday. I am also going to try and attend the Pittsburgh game on March 22nd.

That reminded me to check and.....

Yep, the annual December 23rd home game is still there. They always seem to play at home on my birthday and this year it's the Hawks! Should be fun.
