Skill-wise? Kovalev very easily. However, he seems to lack motivation most of the time so I chose Cammalleri.

I love Kovalev, he is most probably my favorite player but he just doesn't play at a high level consistently. I don't know if it's because of lack of motivation or just his general character but he is just no able to give 100% every night. That being said, I would rather have Cammalleri on my team due to his consistent production.

Hmm. It really depends. I'd take Kovalev next year in terms of production, but I'd obviously rather Cammalleri in the long run. Its close though, only gave Kovalev the edge because I'm a Sens fan. Pretty damn close.

Cammalleri follows the same pattern as Kovalev does, wouldn't call that consistent production.

Hopefully you guys get the good Kovy we had a couple seasons ago. At the top of his game he is one of the most skilled players in the league and coming off the sideboards on the powerplay he is lethal. I took Cammalleri because he is younger and looks like he could be a 40+ goal scorer.

Comparing Cammi and Kovalev, for me it's like comparing Gretzky and Lemieux.

Over a season or a career, I prefer Cammalleri as I choose Gretzky over Lemieux. However, if it's game 7 in play-off, I'd choose Kovalev, or Lemieux. Or at the end of a game and you badly need a goal, I'd opt for Kovalev too.

Who's more talented ? Kovalev, no doubt. As Lemieux is more talented than Gretzky.
Who will get more pts in next season ? maybe Cammalleri.

Shouldn't it be Kovalev vs. Gionta ?

They both make $5 mil per season, and Gionta is the guy who Gainey signed instead of Kovalev when Alex turned down 2 years $10 mil.

Kovalev should smoke Gionta in a poll, no contest he is the better player.

And Gainey said himself he took the Kovalev offer off the table when Gionta signed. He couldn't wait around for Kovalev's answer and risk losing both guys.

Thats a lot different then Kovalev turning down the offer. Kovalev just took to long to ponder the offer, which backfired against him as he did want to re-sign.

I wonder if Kovy was still a Hab and Cammalleri still with the Flames who would be winning this poll..

Cammelleri at least is going to give 110% every night...

As a Flames fan, I wouldn't say that.... he wasn't lazy, but he sure wasn't always 100% there.

I'm interested to see how Cammalleri does without Iginla. He was a huge part of Cammy's success this season.

It makes no sense because Cammalleri will be the best forward on the Habs, while Kovalev should be the 4th on the Sens (Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley)

So, it should be Kovalev vs Gionta or A.Kostitsyn

It's like i was comparing Heatley with Latendresse lol

I would of LOVED to have seen the results of this poll 3 months ago...you know, when Kovalev was still a Hab and Cammalleri just passed the 35 goal mark for the season.

The fact that this poll is so close shows how useless it is to make any poll involving teams from larger fanbases, especially one's involving the Habs

No it shouldn't be.

Made your poll if you want, I wanted to know who between Cammalleri and Kovalev is the best player now.

Majority of my friends are Senators fans (Gatineau), last year Kovalev was trash, a floater, lazy bum, was laughing when he gone 19 games without scoring....

Now, he is a Sens, he is a god, he isn't a floater, puck hog, turnover machine, poor decision making...All of that is gone since he is with them.

Its ridiculous.

Yes it makes sense. I don't give a damn about what make sense to you.

I wanted to make a poll between those two.

Kovalev is an elite player, and an all-star. Cammalleri is a good player, but will never reach the same plateau as Kovalev.

Cammi went hot then cold then hot then cold. When he isn't scoring he isn't doing anything. Cammi might of been a product of Iginla, but we will see this season. I'd take Kovalev though for my team.

Yeah a "product" of Iginla.

More stupid Please?

He scored 30+ goals and 80+pts with Derek Armstrong feeding him the puck.

Kovalev had 1 All Star season in his last 8 seasons.

Cammalleri had 2 All Star season in his last 3 seasons.

I'm a big fan of Kovalev, but I also believe his skills are very overrated. I mean, yes he's one of the best stick-handler in the NHL and his hands are simply magical. On the other hand, his hockey sense (or vision) is very poor. He only sees what in front of him and won't see the opponent coming at him on his right, and won't see his teammate who's all alone on his left either. To me, this is why Kovalev has never been an elite player, and not that much because of laziness.
