to Senators
Rozsival
Arnason
Lisin
Girardi
McDunaugh
to Rangers
Heatley
Kudelka
Let's go Slats!!!!!!!!!!!! Get er done!
So who would be on the Rangers back-line then? Kudelka is not NHL ready and is a season or two away. Your would have only Staal and Redden as the only players with NHL experience. The Rangers would not have the cap space to sign an FA d-man and you can't have 4 rookie d-men in the NHL at the same time.

yes they would. they are taking on about 8 million and losing 9 million in that deal. they would have 6 million to work with and would be able to get babchuk at about 1.5 maybe zubov at 2.5 mil, and Dubinsky at 2 mil.
Heatley was and probably still is an elite talent, with that, there is a reason why no other team has traded for him and it's more than just fitting him into the cap, because there are lots who can make room and fit him in. Unless its the kind of deal that brought Jagr to NY, I'm not touching the guy.
Even Im almost ready to say no to Heatley...so much work...
But the team clearly needs another star player
Us Rangers fans... we get an arm, and then want a leg.
The team finally has one star player. Something we have been lacking.
Asking for another one so soon? Greedy Greedy sons of *****es we are.
I swear sometimes, although its impossible, if this team got Ovechkin somehow, the next thing would be, hes not enough we need to find a way to get Malkin.

No, we would not be shedding 9 million.
Rozsival (5 mil)
Girardi (1.55 mil)
Are you counting Arnason and Lisin as on the team? If so, then they have to be replaced by other players, so the net effect is a push at best.
So basically you're trading 2 players @ 6.55 mil for 1 player @ 7.5 mil and our defense would suck.
No way that happens. Too much garbage and Heatley is worth more than that. Not to mention, the Rangers just got McDonagh and I think he should be kept. We literally stole him from Montreal and you don't mess with that kind of luck. If we want to get another goal scoring winger (which I doubt) or even a C who may not be #1 but can be a good center, then I would rather trade guys like Sauer, Potter, or even Sanguinetti if the deal is right.

With all due respect, I think it is imperative that we get another Star player if we want to win. I think it's within our rights to want one as well. I think you forget Jagr and Lundqvist when you say we finally have one star player. Look at the teams that have won the Stanley Cup. Pittsburgh - Crobsy, Malkin Detroit - Datsyuk, Zetterberg Anaheim - Neidermeier, Pronger.
You need more than one star quality player to win. So to ask for another might be greedy but realistically it's what we need if we want to win. Getting Heatley would make us a legitimate contender in the East. Especially if the young defenseman step up and become capable 2nd and 3rd line defenseman.
