2009/10 NCAA Thread (not Avs prospect related)

Moore headed to Kitchener instead of CC: http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/live/...cketschat.html

Sucks for CC if true. How many years has it been now?

MOD Note: This thread is for discussion about the 2009-10 NCAA hockey season in general. Feel free to talk about your favorite NCAA teams here. Try to to keep discussion about Avs NCAA prospects in one of the prospect stickied threads. Thanks!!!

Moore signs with Columbus, tough break for the Tigers.

Wiercioch will return for his sophomore season:

http://blogs.denverpost.com/sports/2...-dangerous-du/

There will be a lot of pressure for this team to win it all this year; Rakhshani and Ruegsegger graduating after the season and it's possible both Colborne and Wiercioch will bolt after their sophomore seasons.

Good news on the recruiting front....Nick Shore (Drew's younger brother) has committed to DU. He'll arrive in the fall of 2010.

Has the DU TV schedule been announced? They showed a good amount of games last year on FSN.

how easy is it to get decent tix to DU hockey games? Big Joe Colbourne hopeful here, gunning to see him play for the B's in a few years.

DU has sold out all their games the last few years, but if you are proactive, you can find tickets. It's harder to get tickets for games against other WCHA clubs, especially Minnesota and North Dakota who have alot of alumni in Colorado.

Individual game tix go on sale on Saturday at 10:00 AM.

If money isn't too much of a pinch a Friday or Saturday Power Play pack or full season tix is the way to go. I've had a Saturday tix package the last few years and love it.

Nice comeback win for the Pios tonight. Colborne with two and I'd say that Donovan was the most impressive of the freshmen. Not a great game for Chevy, the offense bailed him out tonight. This team is going to be fun to watch, but definately needs to tighten things up as the season goes along. I can't wait for tomorrow night. I'll be at the game, taping the Avs game and probably have a small radio listening to the Rockies game. Multi-tasking

Go DU!

Not a great debut for Murray tonight, rebound control was an issue. However, the main culprit was the Denver defensive group. Far too many odd man opportunities for Vermont and the Pioneer defenders just gave up the ice to the Catamount forwards.

Denver will score a lot of goals this year, but they need to tighten things up defensively. After two games, I'm not thrilled with the goaltending. It's only two games, but I'm not sure if I would go with a goalie rotation. Murray was highly recruited, but I'd give Chevy the bulk of the games at the start.

Still it was a great weekend for the program. Seeing many past DU players on the ice during the second intermission was a nice gesture. I even ponied up some money for one of those retro sweaters they were selling at Magness. This team is going to be fun team to watch.

I forgot to mention one thing...BOONE!

I really wouldn't mind having Chevy in the Avs system. Dang-fangled Panthers, stop drafting DU players!

That game was as chippy in the stands as it was on the ice. There's no love lost between Pio and Sioux fans.

Is that:
1. The last time you spoke a complete sentence?
2. The last time CC did anything of significance?
or
3. Some cryptic message meaning the AVs will wander in the wilderness for 57 years before we have player like Joe to lead us into Jordan.

I feel terrible for Wiercioch, probably ended any opportunity for him to play in the WJC.
