How about NONE ?

Name me the last player who spent his whole carreer (significant length) in Montreal ?

Bob Gainey ?

With UFA and RFA you won't see many Sakics around in the future.

Markov, Lapierre, Latendresse, Price, Subban, MaxPac.

The day any of those guys go I'd be a little sad

For me it'd be Latendresse,Lapierre and Markov.
With the 'loyalty' being displayed by teams or by players in the league, rare will be the Yzermans or potentially Modanos or Brodeurs of the league. Teams will usually consider WHATEVER is needed to improve their lot and players will also consider WHATEVER is needed to improve their lot. That's just the way it is.

Will it be Markov... of all who are there at the moment, he's the most likely. He was drafted, groomed, 'raised', nurtured, developped and cherished by the team and fans over the years. He seems, also, to be one who is happy to be part of the Montreal experience.

Nevertheless, he's got, maybe, another 10 years in his career and, in that time, who's to say that things won't go south for him and/or the team.

My guess is that no, he won't retire as a Canadien but my hope is that he will.

(I had hoped that Koivu would be one who would be bleu, blanc, rouge all the way but didn't happen.)

A fourth liner, marginal 3rd liner and you think he will spend his entire career in montreal? I think he'll get the begin treatment as soon as a younger replacement comes along.

100% agree on this.Anyway, I thought of Lappy and Latendresse because they're the ones who are the closest of representing what Markov is. They're growing little by little and becoming essential to the team's succes. They still have a long way to go, specially Latendresse, but I have a good feeling for this year.

I don't see Price staying with Montreal. He will be gone when he will be UFA.

I believe Markov will be a Canadiens until the day he retires. The press doesnt bother him one bit and i'm pretty sure it's going to stay that way.

What people called Loyalty has been abused horribly by previous generations to manipulate and rip people's rights apart. In other words, it is dead and I don't expect anyone to resurrect it any time soon.

So IMHO, no player we have now will spend their entire career with us and you might as well get use to the idea.

Lapierre and Latendresse(only because his value elsewhere isn't nearly as high as it is here).

Nothing is certain, Gretzky played for the Blues.

Markov is a UFA in 2 years. I don't really see him signing with Mtl again unless Bob gives him big bucks. As for Price, I see him get traded in the next 2-3 years. The Kostis are been pushed out by the media and Tender with Lapierre I see leaving as UFAs for big money. Watch them sign in Philly and New Jersey. So, really no player will finish their career as a Hab. It's the new reality. Teams don't retain their players for long and teams change every year. Saku was not resigned for example because the team didn't want him back.

Bob has to do everything possible to keep Markov a habs for life! He will have legendary status here by the time he is done!

Yeah he doesn't have the personality to have a camera shoved in his face all the time, and its great that the press just leave him be.
