seems pretty no-nonsense - just the type of demeanor you'd like to see from someone with everything to gain but nothing to lose in training camp

I like hearing that

Absolutely; I love the way our prospect pool has taken shape. Ragardless of whether he makes the NYR I can't wait to see how Hartford does this season.

I like this kid. Great use of a draft pick. Hopefully he is brought along slowely as it takes the big guys a hair longer. He looks like a top 6, big bodied keeper.

He kinda sounds like a jerk... in a good way. As in, he'll fit right into his surroundings once he arrives in NY.

this is exactly what I love to hear. This is a good interview. Evgeny really seems like he is really ambitious to get into shape and do his best to make the big club out of camp. best of luck, Evgeny.

Was this translated from Russian? Many times when something is translated from Russian the player can come off as a little bit of a jerk because the answers appear very blunt. In reality though, I doubt that was Grachev's intention. That's just how Russians tend to speak

The guy that did the interview, Alessandro Rosso, works for RussianProspects.com.

Agreed though, I tried to make that point about translations from Russian in the Zherdev arb thread.

To me it comes across as a Russian speaking English and not translated. I could be wrong but just the choice of words gives me that impression and if so it is pretty impressive considering he has been in North America for such a short period of time.

Seems like he's got good intelligence to go with great talent. Very jealous he's not a Sabre.

Right now, with no additional forwards signed, he and Lisin will be competing for the final forward spot open on the 3rd line... May the best camper win!

Lisin is more talented then you may give him credit for. He for sure will have a spot but I think because they might not want to rush Grachev, he will land in hartford unless he blows everyone out of the water. This is Lisin's roster spot to lose.

But where in my post did I downplay Lisin?

Torts is all about playing/rewarding the best performer regardless of age/experience/salary....

If Grachev outplays Lisin in camp, I think they'll utilize him....

Anyone else think that Grachy, Dubi, Gabby just sounds good? in so many ways, just say it out loud.
