Agreed, it's a good sign but we'll see what kind of money gets thrown at him next summer. I have no problem taking a risk like this, where he was picked. If it pans out great, if not, oh well, it's not like we are lacking in prospects and young players.

Yes Trunev's contract is up in April, so hopefully he doesn't re-sign.

That would be sick to see them both come over at the same time. I'd be happy to get one, but if we somehow got both that would rock.

I've posted on my MHL blog a portrait of Alexander Avtsin. Hopefully someone will like it. The blog can be reached here http://russianjuniorleague.blogspot.com

Definitely a character guy who I'd like to see with the Bulldogs next year. He has to fill his military obligations which is why he couldn't come over any earlier then next year.

It is very easy and simple to get him over here. Have Markov take him over to Ovechkin's house so they can meet. Markov and Ovy are friends

good stuff. Thanks for the blog and interview

What are the advantages for Avtsin to play in the MHL. Is he paid. I have to admit i know very little about the hockey league structure in Russia. What does the MHL compare to here in terms of league and caliber of play?

For sure he's getting paid. The MHL is a new league, it's hard to predict at what level it will be, but I wouldn't expect it to be considerably worse than the CHL.

The blog looks great Alessandro, I'll be keeping tabs on it throughout the year.

I was checking out some of the MHL logos...

Intense! I'm not sure a North American team could get away with an animal holding a sniper rifle on its jersey...

Already in my favorites. Will be reading it regularly. Thanks a whole lot. If there's a way you could find some links for some Avtsin videos throughout the year, it would be great. Any idea if the MHL will have some games on the Web?

Thanks for appreciating my stuff.
Regardings MHL, I don't really know. Their official site isn't yet launched and thus it's hard to predict. I do hope that they'll show something!

How would you pronounce his name?
Like Ah-vit-sin? Or Aff-sin?
