Good price, hopefully he reverts back to his 60-70PT form.

Good price if he returns to form but overpaid if he has a year like last year.

why only 1 year? How many more years until he is eligible for UFA?

Right cause so many 20-goal scorers make under $3M (minus the guys on Entry Level deals of course).

Even if he pots 40 pts or so someone will surely sign him anyway. Major league sports are the only profession in the world where you can get pay raises after a sub-par performance.

Plek has skills but he was the softest hab by far last yr, and the one before.

Eklund says this signing might be a sign and trade with SJ.

Not bad. He's more than likely gone after this year, though

Habs have basically zero cap space after they sign Stewart and D'Agostini. SJ needs to shed salary, Montreal can't take any salary on = no chance for a deal.

Will win have a mill, or 2 left over, so they could, in theory take a little on if they ship out pleks to the sharks and Metro to the minors, or another team.

that pretty sure means he his gone next year since:

1- If he plays like last season, we won't be incline to give him a raise...but some teams will on the open market.

2: If he gets back on track with 60-70 points, we won't have the cap space to re-sign him anywayz...

I only hope that if we still are a middle playoff spot, likely to get bumped out in 1st/2nd round, than pleks is gone by the deadline instead of not having anything for him like so much players this year...

not so sure dags will be signed, he was a minus 16. laraque might be on IR, so there an extr 1.5 million, i doubt stewart will get much more than the min

Gainey would be an idiot(well that is if he isn't already, which he is imo) for trading Pleks + all the rest it would cost to get Marleau. Marleau is a UFA at the end of the year and the habs would not be able to afford to retain him.

One year contract is likely a sign that it is the end of the road for Plek. I suspect Gainey will trade him...but not necessarily now.....January will be early enough.....

I agree. It would be dumb to bring him this far over the years and not sign him at this junction. However, he will be expected to produce bigger numbers now and the spotlight will be on his immediate performances, right from training camp.....

Nice value if Pleks goes back to his old form. It definetely could be his last year as a Hab though.
