Is that where that's from? I've been wondering just what the hell everybody was talking about.

Not really, but it came about sort of like that.

JVR (although a Rangers fan at heart) seems like he is going to fit right in with the O&B.

What are your thoughts? 20 games with the Phantoms, or makes the club right off the bat?

It could just be me building hype in my head because there isn't much else to do in the offseason but lately I've been thinking more and more that JVR could make the team out of camp. He seems motivated, articulate and a little fired up about the criticism he has taken. It sounds like he performed very well at rookie mini-camp and I don't think it's off the wall to say that he'll end up being part of the opening day roster. Our cap situation has been well documented on here as has our need for a 3rd line center who can win faceoffs which leads me to believe Homer won't be spending on a third line winger. JVR playing would allow Asham/Carcillo to play the fourth line. If he struggles it would be pretty easy to bump either of those two up and one of the forwards we signed recently could fill in on the fourth.

He seems like he really wants to make the team this year.

As he should. He played on the WJC with Kane and he was a more important part of that team. He's proud and he wants to be in the NHL. Good.

But he said Jim's was pretty good. Jim's is my favorite, so JVR just earned himself a few points in my book.

never questioned that he was a good kid. all of his friends in Ann Arbor speak very highly of him. i was personally ecstatic when we drafted him and i'm excited to see what he can do in camp.
