Possible Sharks Montreal deal (EK)

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklun...eatley/1/22170

Not to long ago I posted that I had friend "source" that gave me some names of players possibly moving in a deal for Marleau.

Those players were PLekanec Sergei Kostitsyn and Halak

Now I know it's just Eklund reporting the above (link) but it gives some credit to names I mention and to the fact that I didn't make it up.
Anyway all this to say I'm not so crazy as some of you made it seem.

It looks like IF Plekanec and company were traded to SJ PLekanec would then be flipped to Ottawa in a deal for Heatley

So.....how do we know you're not Eklund?

Just kidding, even if you made the whole thing up, I don't mind talking about potential trades in July.

Pass on Marleau.

The bros aren't getting split up.

First we're trading Hamrlik to Columbus for Filatov and Brassard.

Obviously.

Its not possible because we don't have the cap space right now for Marleau, let alone having to sign another goalie to back up Price and still sign Stewart and D'Agostini

It not going to happen....I guarantee it. Its just more garbage from Eklund looking for site traffic.

I've never liked you as a poster, but at the same time have more respect for you to make something like this up, so I believed you, so what I'm about to say is with no disrespect to you, but...I think it is not very likely that Eklund reporting this gives credability to your rumour, but it is more likely he just ripped it off and added his own spin to generate hits. He has been caught several times in the past plagiarizing other rumours.

So let me get this straight... we have $1 million in cap space, and we going to trade a center who will make $2.5million, a goalie that makes less than $1million, and a LW at $600k for a Center at $6 mill +. It makes no sense, we'd have to replace Halak (how could we replace with anyone cheaper than what he makes?????), Sergei doesnt even come off cause we'd replace him with Dags salary, and PLeks / Marleau is +3.3 mill or more.

No way... It might not even work if we included Hammer...

We'd have Desjardin backing Price.

We'd have 6 players at 5mill +

yah, but knowing how reliable Ek is (NOT)
he surely had someone send him a link to your thread and he made up his post using your info.
I'm not debating your credibility. I am just saying that he himself has no credibility whatsoever.

We should stay very far away from Marleau.

It would work.

We have 4,860,000.00 left in cap space.
Give let say 600,000.00$ to D'agostini that leave us with 4,260,000.00$

Add the salary of SK and Halak at 816,000.00$ and 775,000.00$ that bring us to
5,851,000.00$

From there we are missing less than 500,000.00$ to fit under the cap.
Trade chipchura or Metropolit and your good to go.
Just have to find a cheap backup Goalie....

why would we want a big, fast goal scoring center when we could have Plekanec instead?

Lot easier would be to trade plekanec, halak and obyrne for marleau. San Jose gets a center and the back-up to address that need.

That would work to,

The best scenario for us would be to keep Halak and include O'byrne instead

This doesn;t work.
It wouldn't leave us with enough roster players.

I hate Eklund so much. Why does he have to make rumors, I feel like starting my own fake rumour here on these boards, make everyone play in on the rumour and see if he picks it up. Because if he does I would laugh so hard in his face.
