Most Likely Defensive Prospect to be Traded

Who do you think is the most likely Rangers defensive prospect to be traded? The current HF rating is next to their names, just for information.

I still lean towards Sanguinetti, mainly based on how high they seem to be on Del Zotto and Sanguinetti having more value than guys like Sauer or something

it is highly unlikely we trade away any of our defensive prospects, Glen has stated he wants to build this team from Henrik out. He wants to fill in our forwards with our prospects, young guns, and free agents, while growing our D-men at home.

I think McD gets traded at this point he's just a bonus (regardless of "rating")

There should be a "none of the above" option. That would get my vote.

Yeah I think I'd hold on to all of them at the moment too, but if I had to choose, I stick with Sanguinetti based on value and "redundancy" in the system.

I'd rather see him stick around, but just sayin'

Maybe not now though.

Maybe at the deadline.

Its funny how almost every poll doesn't have a "none of the above" or "Neither" and it takes like 4 seconds for 7 people to want that option.

The only reason I pick McDonough over Sangs is that Sangs may make the team out of camp this year, whereas the former has plenty of development ahead of him.

None... what I think is that maybe Girardi gets dangled out there around deadline time, or during next offseason.

I think there's a decent chance of this happening as well

It actually makes some sense for it to happen as well (as long as our prospects are progressing at a reasonable rate).

1. Cap problems- we don't have much room under the cap, and him and Staal need raises next year.

2. He goes into a funk every year during the middle of the season.

3. We have alot more youngsters with a much higher ceiling than him.

4. Redden still won't be moved.

Well, it completely depends on who it is we're trading for.

Right now, McDonagh, because of the rumors.

If he isn't traded this offseason, than either Sanguinetti or Potter if either fails to make the pro team, may be included in a deal.

Id hate to lose Girardi but this is the crap Sather has gotten us into. If guys like MDZ, MCD and Sangs (or others) are up to the task, a guy like Girardi is a perfect candidate to be moved in a solid deal. Hes got very good value IMO.

But im a big fan and unless the return was good i wouldnt want to do it. But i agree with the points.

I agree with this. If it is for an elite 1st line guy, say Heatley(not saying that trade will go down), then I'd expect Mcdonagh to be traded. If it's a minor deal for a 2nd or 3rd line forward then probably Potter or Sangs (though I'm pretty sure we have enough 2nd/3rd liners).

Looking at that poll with the numbers, Sanguinetti and Del Zotto really should not be lower than 7.5B's in my opinion. Sorry, but unless one of these gets injured, the two have too much talent to end up as perennial 6th or 7th defensemen

That said, I think the chances are good that none will be moved unless another team actually wants Zherdev and/or Rozsival in an exchange for a #1 center (obviously not likely).

eh, I'm not a big Girardi person. I think he is completely overrated on these boards as well.

but we have Staal, McD, MDZ, Sangs, Girloy, Kundratek, Heikkinen, Williams that all have the potential to be better than Girardi. Whether they hit it is another thing.

Sauer, Gaulton, and Val probably has enough potential to be as good as girardi, and maybe better.

Potter is AHL fodder who is ridiculously overrated on this board. Dowzak is AHL fodder.

I have no clue about Dimaggio or Pashnin.

again this is if they all reach their full potential. Which is highly unlikely. But if we can't move Redden or Rosy this season or next off season Girardi looks to be the odd man out, as we need to keep having these kids step up. By next season I would think that both MDZ and Sangs would be ready to step up full time. Gilroy should have established himself here. i think Heikkinen will have as well.

So even if we get rid of Rosy, Girardi might be on the outs.

But damn, do we have depth.

.

I think the inclusion of McD in the Gomez deal was specifically to flip him out in the deal for Heatley and if that is still on the table, McD is as good as gone.

Sangs. He's still gotta get better in his own end and will be directly challenged by Gilroy in camp. Long term MDZ and McDonagh are better options.
