I have a question for anyone who has been to this sale before:
Can you give an overview of what is for sale? As far what kinds of apparell (ie. jerseys, shirts, hats, jackets) or what kinds of memoribilia, what is available?
The sale is hit or miss. I've been a a year or two when they didn't have very much. Most of the time I come home with things like $5 t-shirts, $10 pull over warm-up style jacket, $5-$10 hats, $5-10 polo shirts, $50 Avery Replica Jersey in 06 before he was booted and they had Brown, Frolov and plenty of other good player jerseys that year that were priced from $50-$80. If I'm not mistaken, in years past EVERYTHING in the store was at least 50% off. I could be wrong and I do think they advertised that.
It also depends on how much **** you already have and what you would be satisfied walking away with. You will probably find at least something you want that is a decent deal. They have also brought out different stuff during different parts of the weekend. Expect to see lots of jerseys by players that have long since left the Kings, stuff that has been on the rack for 2+ years.
I'd love a Moller or Simmonds shirt, and I'd buy a Doughty jersey for $50-80, but I doubt they'll have any of that... though I guess if I went early Friday they might. It's not like anyone is going to be stupid enough to buy up a bunch of stuff this week.
The question is, have they restocked ANYTHING since the last game of the season, or is it just leftovers from then? If its leftovers, there really is nothing there... certainly not jersey-wise. I got the last Kopi jersey in all of Staples and my buddy got the last Doughty jersey they had... we searched every single rack (yes, boobs too, but that's a given) in the building. I could barely find a good shirt.
IF you're wanting Authentic Jersey's /or Autographed memoribilia, you'll be rather disappointed. Most of what little they had discounted of that usually went the first day in a 2-4 hr "PRE-sale" event that was just for STH's, so by the time you "avg joe" went it was gone.
IF you want your basic cheap Kings swag {crap} ... you can find some great bargins on discontinued items. Sweaters, jackets, T-shirts, Caps, REPLICA-Jersey's {though some have Player #'s/name on}
Think usually $5 for caps
$5 - $10 for T-shirts, more for Long Sleave
$10 - $25 for Sweatshirts, hoodies, Windbreaker jackets
$20 - $40 for WinterJackets
$30 - $40 for Replica Jersey's {blanks}
$40 - $75 Replica Jersey's w/ Name/# plates {really hit and miss with these}
Maybe someone else can add more ... but, IMO they have gotten worse and worse each year I've gone ... and I didn't even bother last year. So those $'s were off the top my head from a couple years ago now.
To give a Last example ... the Last time I went '07 I think it was ... they were STILL trying to unload some of the ALLISON Duck little toy thing whatever the F that stupid thing is.
just came back from the store, kind of disappointing
about 80% of the store is stocked with Lakers stuff. They have two sections to the sale, outside is all the bargain bins stuff, $5-15 shirts/caps/memorabilia, you'll mostly find oversized lakers t-shirts for odom/gasol/bynum, lakers sweatpants/trashcans, etc.. you'll even find some 2008 playoofs t-shirts. not much kings stuff, you'll see those mini jersey replicas, stickers, lanyards etc...
everything inside the store itself is 60% off, again 75-80% of the inventory is all lakers related, you'll see a rack of Kings jerseys and pullovers, and a limited selection of women's and kids jerseys
I picked up a $20 Quincey jersey and a $20 O'Sullivan jersey for a friend, $1 bobblehead, $2 foam finger and some Kings laundry baskets that I was going to buy anyways except w/o Kings logos. I also bought 3 hats I don't need for $10 a piece. I'll wait to buy a Frolov jersey next summer when he is on a different team.
