That doesn't work cap-wise, does it?

The first line... didn't MC try to bring it back and it failed miserably? Perhaps if Cheech is healthy...

Interesting...first line from a couple years ago, and Seto on the third line?

Putting Seto on the 3rd line is interesting. If that is our 3rd line I think we'd have the fastest 3rd line in the nhl though. I'd think they would be a pretty dangerous scoring line too. It makes me wonder if he'd be angry to get dropped to 3rd line duty after doing a great job on the top line?
An interesting proposition none the less.

Shelly-Nichol-Staubitz would be brutal though.

<yawn> slow off season "article" chock full of fan speculation to throw a bone to the masses and create conversation. Nothing to see here, move along.

What's the point of even having a depth chart like this before training camp even start? Setoguchi obviously isn't going to play on the third line. This is just pointless dart-throwing guesswork.

If you add Nabby/Greiss and Luko to these lines and with salary assumptions on Mitchell/Greiss, we are at about $60.2M in CAP dollars for 22 players.

Nothing is obvious whatsoever.

Because DP usually has some great stuff he gets a pass for including Frazer McLaren.

The kid may see a game or two due to injuries, but he's not anywhere near close to being ready to play in the NHL.

Its all a chess game. Now we can trade Cheechoo because he's getting paid the right amount of money for the top line. Shrewd that DW.

Actually - if you add up what is in the cap right now, we are $55,682. Add Mitchell for $1M, Mcginn for $1M , Griess at $800k, and Staubitz for $600k and we are at $59,182. That is carrying only 12 forwards instead of 13. So we would be about $3M over the cap with this lineup. Maybe the League office will not notice or give us a break or something?

If that's the case, then Doug Wilson didn't do what he promised to do.

Also, I like that 4th grindy butt line.

You'd mind if he actually plays in a game.

I like Pollak. He's the only beat writer following the Sharks, he's clearly fighting to stay employed, and usually doesn't print crap. He even broke the Nichol signing several days before it was a reality.

However, how could be print a line-up like this without even mentioning that it's can't be accurate because it's way over the cap? Nice investigative reporting there Dave!!

i like it!

- i hope the 3rd line can score more than last season, with Seto there i think so
- the 4th line should be very phyical/nasty/gritty to play against

Please remember that this is not Dave Pollaks lineup. Like he says in the damn blog, it's what is written on a white board as the line-up, as is, in the Sharks office. Also, he didn't print it, he put it in a blog.

Think more what it might say about what Sharks brass thinks of Huskins (vs. say Luko) or what they think of Frazer (as in he's gonna get a shot to take Shelly/Staubitz's place).

Yes, but you and I read that line up and the first thing that we see is that it will not fit under the cap. I wouldn't write it on a napkin without a disclaimer that it doesn't work. He does it for a living, either he doesn't get that it doesn't work, or he failed to mention it. Either way, nice investigative reporting Dave!!
