Hamrlik again.

We need him to step up big time this year and be a solid #2 defenceman.

Gionta, because of the grit and scoring ability he brings.

Now its getting hard to choose. Picked MaxPac, but I think I should have gone with Gionta.

Judging by the results, Montreal doesn't need defense.
And Hamrlik is amazingly underrated around here. Remember before we got him? We had no one on the second pair that was able to play defense and move the puck.

I don't get how Hamrlik isn't as valuable as Gionta or Kostitsyn, one of our main problems last year was our defence and a main reason was because Hamrlik didn't have a great year. The year before our defence was solid and a bit part of it was because of Hamrlik.

I think the guy who is playing 22-25 minutes a game on our second pairing is more valuable to our team than our 3rd/4th best forwards.

I'd say Spacek is almost as valuable as Hamrlik too due to his presence that will be needed on the PP but if Hamrlik regains his form from the 2007-2008 season our defense will be looking very good.

Couldn't agree more, it appears to some people that our 4th most valuable forward is more valuable then our number 2 defenceman. I voted Hamrlik, but i wouldnt mind if it went to Spacek.

You know what's scary? Our 2nd line center getting only 6 votes...

On a good team, the 2nd line center should be ranked much higher...

Usually a top 6 players on a top is your first line, your first d pairing and your number 1 goalie. The fact that Pleks wouldn't be a first line centre on any team in the league and would be an ok 2nd and most likely a 3rd, even a 4th line centre on most teams should tel you he's not that important,

Going with Spacek. We rely on him to score around 15 goals and play solid defense.

Spacek, Hamrlik and Gionta have to be the next three players on this list.

I've had a tough time choosind between Gionta and Spacek.. Went with Spacek because he is the only one who can "replace" to some extent Markov if he is injured, while Gionta's scoring can be partially replaced by A. Kost, Cammalleri, Gomez and even D'Ago, Latendresse, S. Kost, Max Pac.

Gionta is definaetely number 7 on my list though. Then it is Hamrlik.
