If anyone named Sutter or Button is involved it would likely be a grinding third liner or shut down defenceman. It is always endless grinding and this is grinding on my nerves.

Maybe Huskies' d-man Jerome Gauthier-Leduc who is projected to be around when Flames pick first time.

Tim Erixon's coast-to-coast goal was voted 'Goal of the year 2009/2010' by the swedish SEL-fans. Neat achievement by the 18 yo d-man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pmj23CxvOo

Tim is BTW in Calgary right now. Let's see what comes out of that.

Hey thanks for posting that. Great to see. I wonder how long it would take for Erixon to make the Flames. I am pretty excited about that prospect.

Has Erixon Surpassed Runblad yet, or are they still very comparable players at this point?

Personally I'd say that Rundblad is the one that's more "noticable" these days. He had a bad start last season, but at the end of the season he pretty much kicked ass. Though he's also a bit more risky than Erixon which is sort of why you see him a lot more. Erixon wasn't that good last year, he sure scored a lot of goals but it was like... he never stepped up and impressed me like Rundblad did at times. I wouldn't worry though, I think Erixon will be pretty damn good this coming year.

I'm curious as to why he is in Calgary as well. Prospect camp usually takes place in mid to late July. I guess he could be here training and hopefully working on a contract with the flames. I know he is commited to his team in Sweden for another year so he won't be joining the Heat this season.

I wonder how the chances are for a guy like Nemisz and Erixon to make the team. Likely next to none, esp as Sutter always takes the veteran but for once it would be nice to see him being in Nemisz and dump off a guy like Moss, bring in a couple young D men...

Talk to any NHL staff/scouts and they will tell you Nemisz is not ready. He was such a physically dominating force at the junior level that he will need time to adapt to a pro game. Not only that, but he still only weighs 200-ish pounds. I would like to see him at 210 before making the jump. Next year I don't think he is a stretch to make the team. But with contracts we have he will likely replace Moss in 2 years after his contract is up.

Great start to the season for our prospects.

Holland is a really interesting prospect. Good skating ability and good with the puck, looks like a good pick in the 7th round. Hopefully he has a strong season with the Americans.
