I'd say he definitely deserves some consideration.

People on the Wild board told me last September I was crazy for suggesting he could hit 50 points this year. Hah! How do you like your crow, folks? Raw or deepfried? :lol

I'm damned glad to have this guy on our team, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how good he can be in his second year in the system.

Good for him. I still would have took Pronger in the draft though.

I just think its great that Daigle is having a better yeah than Mr. Overhyped himself Paul Kariya, and Daigle actually knows the meaning of the word defense and backcheck playing for the Wild.

I just think its great at almost age 30 that Alex has sucked it up, played good solid 2 way hockey and has reached the 50 point plateau again after being out of hockey and written off by everyone.

That sure takes some character, I guess the character people said he never had.

Good for Daigle.

Guess that now leaves just one ex-Senators #1 draft pick to shed the label of indifferent underachiever.

(Note to fellow NYI fans: Sorry, until #79 raises his game and his team's to another level - as a $10M a year "superstar" should be capable of doing at least occasionally - my days of defending him are over.)

Yashin has never been able to find the MVP level he had in 98 and 00 for the Sens. I don't know if its style of play on LI or lack of chemistry with linemates or whatever, but this is a guy who at 25 years old scored 44 goals and nearly 100 pts, held out, came back and did it again, got traded and has never really been the same player.

Given the fact that Daigle is also only pulling in 500,000 dollars with a team option of around a million I think it's a steal.

Consideration for the Masterton but if Barney doesn't win it I'll puke.

2 more points and he has 300 on the career. I can't believe this is Daigle, I am super happy for him, I hope his success continues and that he achieves greater things.

He's averaged just over a point per game since Feb. 1 - this bodes well for next season, as he really has turned it up a notch of late. Seriously, this guy plays with some fire in his belly; i never saw the "old" Daigle play, but this guy has been far from heartless.

MAYBE he'll be one of the three finalists, but you know Souray or Pronger have the inside track. They suffered career-threatening wrist injuries and came back to play better than ever.... instead of being a lifetime flop and bombing in Hollywood.

He would've been sent down when he hit his slump and not gotten the chance to do it at all.
