I was just about to ask about that (District 9) here. I've been hearing/seeing lots of good things about it, I'll probably see it sometime this week.

Is Verizon FiOS internet and cable better? and will I still get the Flyers games, perhaps maybe in HD?

Ive always sworn by Comcast, but no one seems to agree with me.

I have the wireless router and don't notice any drops in speed. From what i understand the HD quality of Fios and comcast are relatively comparable as are the services in general. The prices are similar too i believe. So if you find a deal on Fios id suggest looking into it. Now that comcast has lost its monopoly in this area there are some choices.

my workplace is on a 13 day on , 1 day off schedule right now. tell me about it. Of course its the hottest weekend of the summer up here this weekend and I have to work.

I hear you. I pay 135 per month, no HD channels. I have the sports package. Thursday I had no cable tv or internet for several hours after I got home from work. I called Comcast and they told me they were doing "required" mantience. Of course I am home during the "offpeak" hours from work So i have to deal with this a couple times a month at least. I am getting sick and tired of comcasts ****** service when I am paying a premium every month.
Well, the Comcast internet guy was here today. He fixed the internet by replacing the modem, installing some kind of "amp" on the conncection coming into the house, and then going outside and fixing an outdated connection that does not use waterproof connections. My internet which used to cut out regualrly seems a lot more stable and has not cut out yet at all. Solid.

He also set up an appointment for a HD DVR for my LCD HD TV (he ran out of the boxes). He asked about an HD box for the LCD TV and he said he'd get me an HD DVR cheaper. (NICE) He said it will be a few extra bucks a month, but said when I watch (and DVR) the Flyers games, that it will be well worth it.

I will reserve my final judgment on Comcast, but finally getting ON-Demand in my house is pretty sweet.

Theres really no big difference between Fios and Comcast. Comcast's infrastructure is 99% Fiber. As is Verizons. Verizon only has the Fiber from the hub to your house which comcast has yet to have. The difference is minute. Irish i wonder how much he charged you, because it was probly way to much for something you could have done yourself. Next time ill walk you through it how bout that.

Walk him through how to install the internet on the internet.... Something about that idea makes my brain hurt!

Makes total sense to me. When I was eighteen, I wish I had a bartender looking out for me (and cutting me off) on a few occasions, whereas by the time I was twenty, I could buy a bottle and know when I had enough.

He didn't charge me anything, apparently we have an extra $3 charge a month that covers all repairs.

I'm still getting rocked with this cable bill, but things have been much improved today.

For those curious, the Devils board has the Rutgers Football thread up and going again:

Oh and for those that haven't heard, RU football will play Army in 2011 at Yankees Stadium.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they're having a public sale, only season ticket holders...as for season ticket holder's availability, probably won't be until at least the regular season starts...

Thats not bad i guess then. I have RCN. Which is really reliable. The customer service lacks sometimes, but other than that. A+ for internet.
