APB - Savard gone missing

0 pts in last 5 games?!?

I know his wingers have been bouncing around like ping pong balls, but your best players have to play as your best players.

All this talk about bad goaltending (Thomas) may be true, but some guys have to wake up I.E Savard, Sturm, Ryder etc

Props to Boychuck on a big hit tonight...too bad it wasn't delivered earlier in the game...it may have gotten the team going

Back to being a fring playoff team

Go Bruins Go!!

Was this the reason Ryder had a falling out in MTL as well, His ability to make everyone on his line disappear?

The Bruins need to get savard a winger that can handle his passes. Savard passes hard and quick. No one seems to be able to handle it. He is seting guys up there just not ready for it. We don't need a sniper, we need someone with a quick release, who always thinks shoot first. Savard will turn them it a scorer. There has to be a fairly cheap player available out there we can get.

3 shots between the 3 of them............that`s our number one line. I am not someone who over reacts generally, but this is a trend that is becoming worrysome.

Any takers on when Chia pulls the trigger on some deal???

He doesn't. He still thinks this team is a contender. I think they are a playoff team but if a sniper (and don't give me these 2nd liners) isn't brought in for Savard's wing, this team is bounced out of the playoffs in 5 against Washinton, Pittsburgh, NJ, or even Buffalo. Hell, as it stands, this team looks ripe for another Montreal upset win against them in 5.

Savard need help, and Sturm and Ryder are everything but that.

Well, I can tell you that any deal that may happen won't occur before Dec. 27th...

i think he'll make a deal , but am not expecting andything huge.

the way sturm has been playing they might have asked him to waive his ntc.

The way Ryder has been playing, they might have asked him to retire.

At this point, I wouldn't like his chances against one of those Mini 1-on-1 goalies.

Said it in the CHI GDT, Sturm has been so bad of late he is dragging everybody else down around him as well. Ryder has also not been very good, but showed some signs of coming out of it when he was playing w/Krejci and SOB. So what does Clode do...put the two coldest guys on the team with out best playmaker. I understand the intent, but for whatever reason neither Ryder or Sturm has ever show the least bit of chemistry with Savard.

Experiment over.

At this point why not try Bergeron and Savard together, the way SOB has been playing at C of late, he can man the #3 center spot.

Time to put Bergeron and Savard together.

Sobotka has my complete confidence to run the 3rd line.

Sturm--Savard--Bergeron
Wheels--Krejci--Ryder
Paille----Sobotka--Recchi
Bitz-----Begin----Thornton

Actually, Marchand is going to be out for some time. I think he just underwent surgery to repair a cut tendon on the top his foot? He was in a collision last week and a skate blade went threw the tongue of his skate and damaged the tendon. Not sure how long he will be gone, but it will definitely be well after January, if he returns at all this season.

Great minds think alike

Seriously, I think that Sobotka looks like he is really starting to "get it" at center and would do fine centering the third line, which would free up Bergeron to move to the RW. At this point I think the B's would get bent over trying to acquire a RW for Savard, so I would try the "Bergeron at wing" experiment. The worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't work and you have to trade for somebody, which is where the B's are now.

How much do you think it would cost the B's to get Versteeg back?

I agree.

Bitz needs to get out of our top 9 too. I like the guy, but he's in positions he's not gonna succeed.

If Ryder and Sturm were not Bruins come January 1st, I wouldn't be too heartbroken.

Then posters can't diss Krejci & Bergeron for their point production as they have been stuck with these 2 guys more then anyone.

Thanks GD, I totally forgot about that..The Bergeron/Sobotka experiment is certainly interesting (perhaps even an article worthy debate haha)... My fear lies in if Bergeron is moved to forward, do we have our bottom two lines iwth no ability to score. Still, with Lucic's return, I'd try something like this.

Sturm-Savard-Bergeron
Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder
Lucic-Sobotka-Recchi
Paille-Begin Thornton/Bitz

In all honesty, I want Sturm out, he does nothing for me right now and would prefer something like...

Lucic-Savard-Bergeron
Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder
Paille-Sobotka-Recchi
Bitz-Begin-Thornton

Chara-Morris
Wideman-Boychuk
Stuart-Hunwick

If the Bruins could pull off a package deal with Ference, picks, prospects, and Sturm if he will waive the NTC, and pick up Whitney and Gleason from Carolina that would be ideal

Correct. I have felt bad for Bergeron for awhile now, but tonight was another prime example of 3 centermen who have little or nothing to work with right now.

Sturm, Savard, Bergeron at least until Lucic returns to form. Our 2 best with someone that needs to get on track for 25+

Then Sturm can join a Krejci, Sobotka or Begin line if he's not producing with these 2.

Sturm and Ryder are just awful right now. You could see Savard trying to do some things to no avail.

Take those two out of the equation and consolidate Savard, Krejci, Bergeron, and their 3 best other guys into 2 lines until they can figure something else out. There are 5 centers on the team anyway.

Clode's problem is that he's still rolling 4 lines with a clear lack of talent. There's no reason the 4th line should get as many minutes as the 1st. And at this point we have 2 2nd lines and 2 4th lines. Until these guys decide to pull their heads out of their *****, this won't work. He needs to consolidate his top talent onto the top 2 lines and give them the most minutes.

Lucic should open up some ice.

I don't see how you put Bergeron on the wing, he wins more faceoffs than all but 4 players in the league last I checked.
