Top-10 Prospects #5

Top Prospects: 3rd Overall

Here's a recap of each thread

Top-10 Prospects #1

- Thomas Hickey won in a relative landslide, garnering 54.74% of the votes.

Top-10 Prospects #2

- Initially, Brayden Schenn looked like the clear-cut winner. However, Jonathan Bernier picked up the pace and became the eventual winner with 49.21% of the votes.

Top-10 Prospects #3

Newly drafted Brayden Schenn wins with 53.16 % of the vote, but Moller is close with roughly 40% of the vote, both of them combining for a little less than 93% of the vote.

Top Prospects #4

Oscar Moller won in a Detroit Red Wings-esque sweep, winning with 77.22% share of the vote

The List

1) Thomas Hickey [D Seattle Thunderbirds WHL] 54.74%
2) Jonathan Bernier [G Manchester Monarchs AHL] 49.21%
3) Brayden Schenn [C Brandon Wheatkings WHL] 53.16%
4) Oscar Moller [C/RW Los Angeles Kings NHL] 77.22%

Whose Left:

Colten Teubert D [Regina Pats WHL] 2008 13th overall
Edward Purcell RW [Manchester Monarchs AHL] Undrafted College FA
Vyacheslav Voinov D [Manchester Monarchs AHL] 2008 32nd overall
Trevor Lewis C/LW [Manchester Monarchs AHL] 2006 17th overall
Martin Jones G [Calgary Hitmen WHL] Undrafted Signed from Camp
Andrei Loktionov C [Windsor Spitfires OHL] 2008 123rd overall
Kyle Clifford LW [Barrie Colts OHL] 2009 35th overall
Jeff Zatkoff G [Ontario Reign ECHL] 2006 74th overall[/color]
Alec Martinez D [Manchester Monarchs AHL] 2007 95th overall
Davis Drewiske D [Manchester Monarchs AHL/Los Angeles Kings NHL] Undrafted Free Agent

Remember to suggest who to add next

So far added:

1) Kyle Clifford
2) Jeff Zatkoff
3) Alec Martinez
4) Davis Drewiske

and again, I suggest to add Azevedo, and I vote for Trevor Lewis (dark horse, should be in the NHL next year)

To JDM - I added Martinez over Drewiske in the previous poll they split the vote (along with Azevedo) each receiving 2 because Martinez was the most highly rated by HF (which I am using as the tie-breaker).

However, I do think that Drewiske is a much, much better prospect than Martinez.

Gotcha. Thanks... I didn't mean to sound like I was annoyed by that in the last poll, I really was just curious what the tiebreaker was... HF ranks seems fair enough to me!

Nah, it actually helped me, I kinda wanted to say how the tie-breakers were gonna go down (for adds that is) anyway

Ahh Another Lone Wolf Vote...

Voted for Teddy Purcell, for two reasons he has some games at the NHL level and we all hope he makes it big! I mean that in two ways as well either big with us or as a trade item for a Whopper Deal! So that being in mind I want him to be in our top few prospects so he is more attractive to other teams and to inspire the lad to charge full steam ahead...

As for an add how about Wee Geordie Wudrick? ( Wee Geordie was a reference to an old movie, no offense to Mr. Wudrick)

I voted for Voynov, but I think the more important thing at this point is that we have, arguably, hit the second tier of our prospects. I don't think there is any doubt that the first four are sure-fire NHLers. Now we're getting into players who will be given a shot but aren't guaranteed to make it (some grey area may be given for Voynov, Loktionov, and Teubert but the talent level in this tier is, in my mind, a clear step lower than the previous one).

When these results are compiled and you look at who the best players are in 3-4 years. It will look completely different that it does thus far.

1) I voted Voinov
2) It's "Alec Martinez"
3) I thought Teubert would get more votes
