The Leafs will get big points from Ponikarovsky-Stajan-Antropov (surprisingly large for those players, such as 50-60-50 point seasons)

My call for top point producers will be Leetch-McCabe...I mean...Tanguay-Forsberg (if Forsberg decides the NHL is better than the SEL for him). Young guys...Nash-Zherdev (Zherdev will break out, his season has been shrouded with his international issues)
Leaf fans never cease to astound me. Wow.

Besides the Leetch-McCabe comment which it seems was a joke, what did he say that astounded you ?

He answered the question posed in the thread. Forsberg-Tanguay was his answer.

His comments about Antropov-Stajan-Ponikarovsky while not necessarily relevant to the discussion do not seem that far fetched, esp. since he disclaimed his predicitions as being "suprisingly large".

I personally think Stajan with 60 points is a stretch. Antropov can easily hit 50 and is more of a lock to hit 60 than Stajan. Ponikarovsky hitting 50 is a bit of a stretch as well. However, Stajan and Ponikarovsky have looked very good this year, with limited ice time and they should get much more ice-time in the coming year.

That being said, if he says that Ponikarovsky can SUPRISE for 50 pts, it's going out on a limb but not as badly as you may think.

naslund/bertuzzi
st louis/vinny
kovalchuk/heatley
nash/zherdev

and due to the hawks franchise problems I don't really see any tandem being high-scoring, but IMO ruutu is going to have a breakout year next year

Now for my homer pick:

sullivan/walker

Assuming they both stayed healthy and kept up their current pace in the 22 games since sully joined up (that is unlikely) Sully would have 112 points and walker would have 108. That's probably not feasible but I'd say 80 or so points each is believable

why would Kariya have a better chance of being "high up there" on the Ducks as opposed to playing with Sakic or Forsberg on the Avs??

he played with Sakic a lot this year and getting PP time on a stacked PP - much more so than he'd have in Anaheim, and wasn't able to put up those big numbers...

last season he slowed down as well in Anaheim under Babcock's defensive-first system - so unless Babcock's gone, going back to the Ducks doesn't guarentee him anything.

I'd take Sakic or Forsberg any day as a linemate when scoring is concerned over Fedorov too.

I'm a Devils fan too, but I think you are taking this a little too far.

That said, I'd be surprised to see them in a top 5. Top 10 would be realistic.

But in 3 years, a Datsyuk/Grigorenko combo could make the list (fingers crossed).

Can we have a scoring trio? How about Ovechkin-Zherdev-Nash?
Or maybe Ovechkin-Arnason? Ovechkin-Doan? Ovechkin-Lemeuix-Malone?
