IMO Frolov will not be a King past this season. I just get that feeling. That being said who would you want if Frolov was to get dealt. Heatley, Marleau or Roy
Heatley would be an upgrade over Frolov. I know he has character issues but I'd take a chance with his talent.
Marleau would be a great 1a/b center but by trading Frolov for him it would open up a hole at LW.
I guess there was a rumor last year around the deadline that the Kings were interested in Roy but Frolov was to be part of the deal. Roy would be a very good number 2 center behind Kopitar but losing Frolov would open another hole.
I am sure that Frolov would go to OTT or SJ for Heatley or Marleau. Could you get Roy out of BUF without trading Frolov? You whould have to think you could offer Stoll or Handzus plus a prospect of two. Zus would be harder to move with his NMC.
IF Lombardi was really looking for a second-line center at the deadline last season, why would he have traded and signed Stoll to a four-year deal? Not to mention Handzus has another two years left on his deal.
I guess out of that list, I'd take Roy. I have little interest in Marleau (much less trading Frolov to a division rival) and, after listening to Heatley's recent press conference, any residual interest is now gone.
