Looks like it's just a back issue, no word on how long it'll be but they're calling up Braden Holtby to backup Varly tomorrow at least. I'm guessing Varly gets all the starts, unless Theo's out for a very long time (and in that case I'm sure they'd bring up Neuvirth to spell him if it comes to it).
Wasn't sure where to put this, so I'll just try here.
I need some opinions here...
If you were in a fantasy hockey league which is a keeper league, and could keep any two of these four Capitals prospects, who would it be and why? Regardless of how long it takes the player to get to the NHL...I'm looking for two players with most offensive upside, and most realistic chance of achieving that potential at the NHL level.
Cody Eakin vs. Marcus Johansson vs. Oscar Osala vs. Francois Bouchard
Currently right now I have Johansson and Bouchard.
I really like Eakin, but Osala and Johansson are probably the safest of the four. Osala is the closest to the NHL of all of them, Johansson is probably going to be the best of them all. Bouchard seems like he's regressing, and it's hard to say what Eakin will turn out to be but his upside looks like it might not be as high as the others.
Hey guys, what are the latest reports on Fleischmann? Shouldn't he be back by now? Is the injury more serious than first thought?
Anyways I got proposed a 1-on-1 Milan Michalek for Tomas Fleischmann trade in my keeper's league and I want to know more about him first.
Where do you guys think he'll play? Is he a lock on the top-6?
If you had to guess, for how much do you think he'll sign this summer (long-term between 3-4 seems reasonable to me).

How much he gets would be tough to gauge. If he can get 30 goals? Who knows. If he can't I don't see the Caps giving him more than Laich makes, especially if they're able to retain Semin (then again, if they keep Semin I see Flash as the team's top trade bait, but that might just be me).
Either way I don't see him getting 4. He can score some goals and is passable on the PK (if only for his ability to clear the puck) but otherwise he's not a particularly strong two-way player and isn't what you'd consider a "force" out there. Not the type you'd be spending that much on unless the market shifts in a big way I think.
Given that first the team said he was ill a few days ago, and then Boudreau changed that to 'sore' more recently, it is likely that he is injured and they aren't prepared to talk about the injury, the severity, nor the timeline for his return.

Thanks!
you take that deal and run. i love flash, but even in a keeper it is always Milan you want
Should I keep Varlamov, or am I better off with Halak?
Halak will probably give you better numbers, and Jose is playing really well right now so Varly probably won't get as many starts either (Price is struggling, right?) Varly's playing like a rookie right now, so I guess it depends on how patient you want to be. Halak is definitely the smarter short-term pick I'd say.

Eh, I'm gonna wait out the storm. GA is one of the scoring categories, so I'm taking advantage of that. I have MAF and Varly. Since Varly doesn't get as many starts, I typically only have one goalie playing as opposed to my opponent's two goalies. I usually end up with less GA barring a shutout by the other guys.
I've got six teams, so it kind of feels like I have everyone...Backstrom's in two, though, so that's nice. Ovechkin in one, and it's a H2H league, so I pretty much win goals and shots every week. Lucked out on getting Theo in that league, too...
