This guy has the best stick handling in the world at times, and then other times his stick kills him. I've never seen a player take SO many pucks away from opposing teams player's with such ease than Semin. It's quite beautiful to watch. I really hope we keep him and Backstrom. I think Semin would sign for less money just so he can stay with Ovie.
5 on IR: B.Gordon, Knuble, Laing, Morrisonn and Semin
LTIR: assume Knuble and likely Laing
Nylander - on the roster, but in limbo
Ovechkin - last game played 11/30, day to day - knee
Gordon - last game played 11/14, on IR, back injury
Knuble - last game played 11/13, , surgery on broken finger, on LTIR, first game he can return is 12/9
Laing - last game played 11/17, broken jaw, on IR likely on LTIR (per Masisak: will have his jaw un-wired on Dec. 8th); if on LTIR, eligible to return as of 12/11 game against Carolina, but that would be if he was cleared to return which sounds questionable given the timeline as of now
Morrisonn - last game played 11/17, concussion (as of 12/1, expected to take a few days off)
Poti - last game played 11/20, upper body injury (chest bruise); did practice with the team on 12/1
Semin - last game played 11/14, day to day with wrist injury, on IR; practiced with the team on 12/1, but doubtful for game on Thursday 12/3
OT: Morrisonn update on 12/1: "TarikElBashir: Shaone Morrisonn (concussion) is going to take a few days off, BB said."
They should have had Morrisonn take the time off right away, not let him practice/skate, etc.

When is he supposed to be back in the lineup? I'm hanging on to this guy in my hockey pool but getting concerned his absence will drag on! Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance...

Gents, much like our Capitals, I'm having a defensive logjam. The difference is, luckily, that all my defensemen are good. Opinions welcome.
League is a 16 team head to head format. G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, FO, W, GAA, SV.%, SHO
Centers: Nick Backstrom, Derek Roy, Mikhail Grabovski, Gilbert Brule**
LW: Rick Nash, Milan Michalek, Alex Tanguay, Andrew Brunette
RW: Loui Eriksson, Mikael Samuelsson***, Niclas Bergfors
D: Mark Streit, Christian Ehrhoff, Tomas Kaberle, Ian White, Niklas Kronwall (IR)**, Andrei Markov (IR)***
G: Pekka Rinne, Ondrej Pavelec
Offer 1: This one is almost a sure thing. The guy on the other end has already accepted it verbally, but we're waiting for the league commish to talk to, because we want to see if he can user move Kronwall straight to the other guy's IR, to avoid having to drop a player.
Brule+Kronwall for Jason Arnott
Because of this I want Grabovski gone, as the weakest of my centers. However, I hate getting no return, and there's another problem. I dropped Hemsky in haste, and after reading his most recent league update found that he may not actually go out for season ending surgery. Trying to keep it quiet, but I'm going to need to make the executive decision and drop somebody. Is he my most likely cut with Arnott taking up a center spot?
Trade 2:
Just offered to the guy, doubt he'll accept (because he dislikes me), but I tossed it to him anyway.
Markov+Samuelsson for Paul Stastny
According to the Yahoo rankings, Samuelsson really isn't far behind Stastny at all (51 to Stastny's 40), and Markov is the icing.
In an ideal world, I'd get both trades accepted and pack up my two left over centers (Grabo and Roy) for a single RW, and then use the roster spot to pick up Hemsky. I don't know if I can get all that done before Friday (Hemsky's MRI). Should I cut Grabo on Thursday and roll with my gut, given that I'll have Arnott (and, if the trade gets vetoed, I'll have Brule)? Or should I hold on to the healthy player, trade for a sub-Hemsky winger, and make do without Ales in my lineup for the rest of the season?

Looking like this thursday...seems to some conflicting info today. I would think he would be back by Saturday no matter what at this point barring anything crazy.
Thanks Usiel...I guess I'll hang on to him then..I'm hoping he, Backstrom and Ovie light it up when everyone is back Oh, and Green too - got him in my pool as well!

I sure as hell can. I just traded the farm for him due to a deep bench, a massive lead in assists, and a need to catch up in goals and SOG. Without him....ugh. I gave up Thornton and Iginla in that trade.
Two games versus a possible season-ending injury is a tradeoff that I would make any day of the week, that's for sure. Close one. He's going to come back totally fired up and ornery.
4 on IR: B.Gordon, Knuble, Laing, Morrisonn (possibly Poti)
LTIR: Knuble and likely Laing
Nylander - on the roster, but in limbo
Ovechkin - last game played 11/30, 2 game suspension, day to day - knee
Gordon - last game played 11/14, on IR, back injury
Knuble - last game played 11/13, , surgery on broken finger, on LTIR, first game he can return is 12/9
Laing - last game played 11/17, broken jaw, on IR likely on LTIR (per Masisak: will have his jaw un-wired on Dec. 8th); if on LTIR, eligible to return as of 12/11 game against Carolina, but that would be if he was cleared to return which sounds questionable given the timeline as of now, Boudreau stating he expected Laing needs approx 2 weeks once jaw unwired
Morrisonn - last game played 11/17, concussion (as of 12/1, expected to take a few days off; 12/3 skated)
Poti - last game played 11/20, upper body injury (chest bruise); did practice with the team on 12/1, expected to return soon
Semin - last game played 11/14, day to day with wrist injury, on IR unless plays tonight; practiced with the team on 12/1, expected to play on Thursday 12/3
Beagle - sent down to AHL
nothing official about a return date; however 12/9 is the first game he is eligible to come off of LTIR and play and he is practicing with the team in a non-contact jersey

Unofficially didn't he say he would have wanted to return earlier if he were allowed to? So I guess it should be considered very likely that he's back on Wednesday.

yes ... and as noted elsewhere...there are roster/cap implications when he returns
I see that Ovie is out day-to-day and that you guys stomped the Flyers the other night without him.
Just wondering when you guys expect him back in the line-up, I ask this because I'm heading to Toronto for the game vs. the Caps on Saturday the 12th, and would very much love to see him tear up the Leafs. This will be my second NHL game and I couldn't be anymore blessed to see one of the big 3 play (though I would love to see the Pens play sometime)
