Locking 2 and 3 are iffy but manageable, and those who don't want to can make an extra 1st round pick? (just an idea added on from a previous idea)
And a full dispersal would kinda ruin the point of picking teams in the first place.
Full dispersal lets you choose your team, and not worry about having to search for protected players the whole time. A full dispersal draft is so much easier wheen you dont have to worry about which prospects you have to protect.

IMO, some people seem to be leaning towards idea #2 and #3. Protecting 5 players it's outright ridiculous. Ruins the whole point of the game to protect a full line. Some teams will have a huge advantage over others which makes the league unfair. A snake-full dispersal draft is 100% fair because then there are no complaints about the players on your team... cuz everybody picked their own damn team

If we do three players I think it should be any three or maybe two skaters and a goalie or prospect. Not every team has a DMan worth writing home about, especially fantasy wise.

alrighty - since the vote is more or less split between options one and two, the executive decision is...

choose ONE team and protect THREE players. the restrictions on the protection of players is as follows: you can any three of the four options - ONE goalie, ONE defence, ONE forward, or ONE prospect.

i think this is a fair middle ground as it reduces the likelihood of stacking teams from the beginning (there might be a slight hierarchy but, good drafting can quickly eliminate that). as well, it provides a little more identity to the teams.

as a results, here is the list of gm's and their choices (i've bolded the first choice). let me know if you would like to change this.

1. papershoes -- team tba
2. Ignatius J Reilly -- Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington
3. Bleak -- Anaheim
4. ZhasX -- Washington, Chicago, LA, Philadelphia
5. Flyers -- Philadelphia, LA
6. FutureFF -- Phoenix
7. Porn* -- Toronto, Columbus, Minnesota, Chicago
8. Roflologist -- Boston, St.Louis
9. loganmacinnis -- Philadelphia, TB
10. Schooner Guy -- Montreal
11. glassjaw -- Buffalo, Philadelphia, Ottawa
12. Zauper -- Detroit, San Jose
13. mlugia -- Columbus
14. Bogosian -- Atlanta
15. VanIslander -- Chicago
16. AlexMaz -- Calgary

remember, the restrictions of a prospect are as follows: any player who has played in LESS THEN 120 games, and any goalie who has played in LESS THEN 70 games.

finally, i'll have the message board site finished, and a link provided, as soon as i can.

cheers

wouldn't you like to know about SALARY CAP and player performance criteria?

the rules of the game should be SET BEFORE we start playing the game!

Sorry I've been away a couple days, but I had an idea while I was gone and no computer to post it.
This is kind of going backwards after papershoes made the official rule (sorry about this).
If it's not too late to post my idea, i'd like to now. I'd like the go-ahead before I do so, so as not to insult papershoes' authority and final decision.

feel free to post your idea - though i'm still inclined to run with the final decision (i.e, three keepers).

It goes back to the idea of keeping one player.
Another idea came up saying those who want to not keep any get an extra pick in the draft. TO which i made a suggestion of the extra being a first round.
Alternate idea: Instead of picking an exra 1st for those who don't keep a player; those who keep one player don't pick in first round?

Like I said, it's a step back from the final decision but I thought I should throw it out there anyway.

I think this is over complicating it... everyone will want to keep a player

i'm assuming everyone is still using the following teams. however, our two philadelphia teams need to come to a compromise.

1. papershoes -- Carolina
2. Ignatius J Reilly -- Pittsburgh
3. Bleak -- Anaheim
4. ZhasX -- Washington
5. Flyers -- Philadelphia
6. FutureFF -- Phoenix
7. Porn* -- Toronto
8. Roflologist -- Boston
9. loganmacinnis -- Philadelphia
10. Schooner Guy -- Montreal
11. glassjaw -- Buffalo
12. Zauper -- Detroit
13. mlugia -- Columbus
14. Bogosian -- Atlanta
15. VanIslander -- Chicago
16. AlexMaz -- Calgary

Most excellent...

Not that I'm gonna keep any of these losers, ha.

Mason, Filatov, Voracek for me, unless I change my mind in the next 20 minutes.
