The defender Teppo Numminen put a term at his 20 seasons career, according to what reports a Finnish newspaper. The 41 year old athlete took part in 1372 matches since the beginning of his career. He carried the uniform of the Jets of Winnipeg at his beginnings before following the team to Phoenix. After one season in Dallas, Numminen finished its career with the Sabres of Buffalo. The veteran defender gave the fun to his fellow-members before the season 2007-08 whereas a problem of heart was detected in its system. He underwent an open-heart operation before disputing his only match of the season, on April 5. Klee is also withdrawn Another defender, Ken Klee, decided to put an end to his 14 seasons career. The new one was confirmed by its agent. Klee passed the major part of its career with Capitals of Washington, of 1994 to 2003. The 38 year old defender has played for six teams for the four last years. He adds up 195 points and it missed only 66 matches to reach the 1000 since the beginning of its career.

Ken Klee was great in his prime. The epitome of an old-school stay at home d-man that worked wonders on the second pair of an amazingly deep defensive corps for the Caps in the mid to late 90s.

always liked Kenny with the Caps, there was a brief time when we ran a 2-1-2 system with him as the 1 (not forward or D-man, something in between... a kinda midfielder)

Thanks Kenny, for some 9 seasons of pretty solid defending.

Trivia: Though not known as a goal scorer, 13 of his 54 career goals (as of May, 2009) are game winning goals, one of the highest percentages in NHL history. (From Wikipedia)

I was hoping he'd land somewhere and get to 1,000 games.

The guy's old, but he could still play. (Which was relative to David Hale's performance)

I can say without a doubt that I appreciate his time on the Leafs although he always seemed to get a bad rap. I suppose that is because he was never flashy in any sense but certainly a solid defender.

It was about 4 games, and it was him and the Goocher for the 1. We had half our forwards hurt, and too many d-men.
