Mike Komisarek and Francois Beauchemin - Who are you more excited for?

i should start out by saying that i would put XLB but i didnt see him getting the popular vote because he is a depth player, not a top 4 defenseman.

anyways, who are you more excited to see dressed in blue and white this season?

Mike Komisarek has the bone crushing hits and is a very good shutdown player. I can see many leaf fans with his name on the back of their jersey.

Francois Beauchemin is a mule out there. every time he touches the ice the other teams take note. this guy barely makes mistakes and is once again a shutdown guy that you rely on in the final minutes of a game.

they both have more to offer than what i have put but im interested to see who the leaf fans think will have a bigger impact on the team and why they believe that player will have a bigger impact?

fire away boys and girls!

Beauchemin. I've been a big fan of his for some time now. He was my number one free agent target for the off season. The fact we got both Komisarek, and Beauchemin, on good deals, made me extremely happy.

I'm not too familiar with beauchemin's game because I didn't follow the ducks too often. I've heard nothing but great things from both duck and leaf fans.

I always hated playing against the habs because of the hits komi could lay. Now that's he's on our team, all is well. He's going to crush anything that's has on a different color jersey than his.

My votes for Komi.

Komi bc he will be more fun to watch. I expect Beauch to play a more mistake free "boring" style game in that you will not and should not notice him out there.

This sums up my thoughts as well, I wanted Beachemin to complete our top 4. Hopefully Komisarek can come back to his pre-Lucic form.

Beacuh is the better defenceman but I'm more excited to see Kommy. Kommy is bad ***.

The added anger factor from Hab fans will make the next five years all the more enjoyable.

I remember watching Beauchemin on the Ducks during their cup run and thinking about how much I would love him on the team. As a matter of fact, I thought the same thing about a couple years back Komi when the Leafs played Montreal (I also like Ryder and Higgins for whatever reason).

I don't think I can choose..... good stuff.

I agree with this. Although, I think both will be great. We finally have a really physical defense. I hope to see Luke spend time paired with both, though. Hopefully Luke can be as solid of a two-way defenseman as Beauchemin is.

It hasn't hit me yet which is why I'm itching for game #1. I would have been floored with one of them. Both + Schenn is too good to be true.

wish this was a poll. Beauch, only because I already know what Komi brings, not as much with Beauchemin so I want to see his play more.

It's a pretty solid defense. And with Kaberle leading the offense, I think they're easily a cup contending defense. Goaltending has the potential to be cup calibre if Toskala regains form, or Gustvasson somehow manages to pull a Hiller. Offensively, we're pretty garbage, unfortunately, but think we're still looking very good going forward. And we have a pretty young team overall. Thank god free-agency is 25-27 now.

The only player I wanted to sign in FA was Beauch. Now that we have Komi I'm happy about him too, but Beauch for sure. Not even close. I think he'll be an upgrade on Kubina.

Top four I would almost agree with but we're a move or two on the bottom pairing D to make it a complete top six for a contender. I wouldn't mind seeing a few specialist D's (PP, PK, etc) in the five, six and seven spot BUT those are easily attainable. The hard part was always getting a solid top four. We're missing the booming shot from the point as well.

Mission accomplished so far.

I'm pretty exicted to watch Komisarek run over the little Hab forwards!

So i guess that makes my vote Komi

I expect Komi to play tough and shut guys down, and hit a lot. I don't know Beauchemin that well so I don't know what to expect. I couldn't honestly I.D. him in a police lineup. I hear he has a cannon of a shot from the point, maybe one of the hardest. It will be interesting to see if he gels with Kabs on the PP. Very exited all in all.

as long as both hit when their opponents heads are down, I'm happy.

I'm more excited bout Kommie. Cause I ain't seen him play as much I've seen Beauchemin in the west. And Kommie's just so cool, he a hard ninja. Y'all know what I'm saying my ninjas.

And uh, Kommie is just so tough and heavy. He plays a heavy game. So does Beuche.. but Kommie is just so explosive. So I'm bout that.

So yeah, I'm just more interested to see how Kommie commands in Leafland. Now I gotta smoke a vanilla cigar mane. Y'all be cool out here you hear.
