Nice signing so long as Reimer is getting a fair amount of games with the Marlies still.

“We are pleased to be able to add a goaltender of Joey’s caliber to our roster,” said Burke. “He brings experience and character to our organization and gives us depth at the goaltending position.”

MacDonald, 29, registered a 14-26-6 record, one shutout, a 3.37 goals against average and a .901 save percentage in 49 games with the New York Islanders last season
Better than any of our goaltenders last year

Good, depth signing. Reimer will likely split time with him. But it would be nice to see him take the job outright.

Man! .901 Sv% on the freakin Islanders is damned impressive, good signing. Burke's trying to make the Marlies young and competitive and it's really great to see.

Agreed! trading a 23 year old goalie to make room for a 29 year old is definately making us young and competetive!

Because young always equals better!

What are the benefits like for a professional troll? You've been moaning and complaining about moves here, yet you claim to be a Kings fan now... funny.

Good signing. If the Monster struggles we could up Joey Mac to fulfill back up duties. .901 save pct on the Islanders is impressive.

Maybe not young but more competitive, Pogge may never play another game in the NHL, Mcdonald is a capable backup, and actually was a starter for most of last year with a 901% save percentage.. you should maybe think a little before you post

Burke is all about making the playoffs, everything else is meaningless.

Maybe you should realize what site you are on before posting. It was clearly a smart move by Burke and that's really all there is to it.

You forgot the

Regardless, 29 is not old for a goaltender these days by any means.

if you read, I am merely mocking the previous poster for calling the Pogge deal and Macdonald signing as "getting younger"

I didnt say younger was better did I?

I like the move. Hows that? ya, even the Troll can like things from time to time.

Ask Rask, that's when the Bruins are going to let him start.

If he takes time away from Reimer and his progress, then this signing is harmful rather than helpful. Remember Scott Clemensen, people.

If that's the case, can we say goodbye to Kadri, and our first next season? Short term builder, quick fixer? Do his moves to date scream this to you?

Might have something to do with defecting from the Leaf fanbase.
