What do you expect?

What are everyones expectations for the Rangers this upcoming season. Considering beside locking up Dubinsky the team is most likely finished for the offseason. So, that being said, how do you think the Rangers will fair as a team this year?

Anywhere from the 4th to 9th seed, depending on the health and play of Gaborik and Lundqvist, respectively.

In addition, I'm expecting:

-break out year from Dubinsky (50-55+ points)

-Lundqvist finishes in the top 5 for each goaltending stat except GAA, and gets passed over for the Vezina again

-Higgins, Callahan, Lisin, Drury all hit 25 goals or more

-Tortorella will bench every single defenseman on the NHL roster at least once this season (even Staal)

-Sather will make a big time pitch for Kovalchuk, but will fail

8th-10th place finish unless some of the holes are filled before the season starts.

To be honest though, it's particularly hard to predict this season. The roster has been almost completely overhauled.

More entertaining hockey. I want this team to play to win, and not to not lose like last year. Then 5th-8th is fine to me.

Overhauled, and better, so an 8-10 place finish would be a massive disappointment as far as Im concerned.

Hard to know how this season will go. Think a lot of it comes down to who we have on D (big, big question marks at this point) and how they play. That and Gaborik. I'm expecting Hank will be Hank...but hoping he can even step it up a notch and put his best complete season together. So while I don't see us winning the division, we could very easily finish anywhere from 4th to 12 imo. Should be exciting.

Yup.

Healthy Gabby/Henrik = 4-7

Unhealthy Gabby/Henrik = 8-12

4th but 3rd best record in east. I really think that this team is comprised of all players torts wants and he will get the very last drop of sweat out of every last player and we will in the end be successful. I want to say we'll lose in the Conference finals to the pens in a 7 game thriller. Come on why not be optimistic and it's really not that far off.

I expect Heatley to be here and will wait to see who else is left before making any predictions for this season. Longer term however, I would be giddy about having Gabby and the Heater and our prospects all in place.

7-10th. We are no better than we were last season. If Gabby gets hurt, we are definitely worse.

Don't have high expectations at all for this season.

Agreed all around. If everything works out perfectly we could finish 4-5. But realistically 6-9 makes sense and if Gabby goes down for an extended period of time...well...

Low expectations, really. Too much turnover. Not equipped to play the style Tortorella wants to. This is not the club with Lecavalier, Boyle, St. Louis and Richards. I think they will miss the playoffs.

We'll be in the playoffs but I'm not sure where or how successful in the playoffs we'll be. I don't think any of the teams that we were better than last year have passed us and we're better than we were. Our young players are going to improve and I think Hank could really have a defining year.

I am going to say they wil finish 6th.

Hank will be up for the Vezina.

Dubinksy will break the 60 point mark(if he plays with Gaborik)

Drury, Callahan, Higgins, Dubinsky all break 25 goals.

Kotalik, Lisin, Avery break 20 goals.

Anisimov impresses everyone and makes a run at rookie-of-the-year with 40 points.

Gilroy impresses and makes a run at rookie-of-the-year with 29 points and 11 goals.

I can't help but have a nagging feeling of discomfort as the Dubinsky thing drags on.

I think cigar boy is going to do something that's going to annoy a lot of us.

I expect the majority of this board to explode with "SC Chances?!!!?" when the team gets on a win streak, and "OMFG TANK" when the team loses.

Come one, no way this happens with Tavares, Hodgson, Duchene, Hedman etc... all probably hitting the big leagues this season.

If all those things happen, we finish better than 6th in the conference
