From his latest blog:

A source in LA has confirmed that the Montreal Canadiens are in "what appears to be the final stages of completing a deal to get Frolov from the LA Kings."

There is also a smaller roomer with Edmonton. Montreal has interest in Smid and the Oilers in Plekanec.
Roomer?

You can hate me because i know it all though.

I am not will to give up the Kostitsyn's or something equivalent to that for 1 year of Frolov.
It's not just Frolov, correct me if i'm wrong, but you seem to be a real Carey Price hater, for a player of his potential at just 21 years old is rediculous. Would you have the same opinion if he came with a contract extension?

Haha for someone who makes rumours for a living you would think he knows how to spell it properly. Maybe he didn't have time to use spellcheque...

He just corrected it a couple of minutes ago. Anyways, why would the Habs want Smid? where exactly would he fit in the line-up? unless the Habs are trying to unload Hammer's salary, witch imo would suck cause we need him. Even if Georges is part of the deal, we need an open spot if one of O'Byrne, Subban or weber is ready to play with the big club.

I don't hate Price, i just don't think he is as good as Halak.

Frolov with an extension? Sure, as long as its a good contract. We are already pretty tight to the cap for the coming years with all the high priced players on the team though. And none of those contract are tradeable because of the (rumored) declining cap.

Neither of them should have a top 6 role without someone being hurt. Smid is a poor man's Komisarek almost.

Is Eklund more desperate or the people who actually go to the site?

Thats the true question.

I know it's Eklund but..
What do you think it would take to land Frolov ?

I'll start with Halak..

Also I dont think its a good idea to include A.Kost in that package.
A.Kost is 3 years younger than Frolov and he will be just as good as him or better.

So lets say Halak + 2nd round pick + ?? + ?? = Frolov

I really like Halak but if we can get Frolov and a veteran backup later (Fernandez),
I would include him in a package.

Kings fans seem to think we're going to give up an arm and a leg for him. He's an impending UFA..

This is natural. Every fanbase thinks they should get the world for their players, while the other party's fans think it will only take scraps to get that said player.

I dont know if this rumour has true legs, but I'm willing to venture that Frolov is already as good as andrei kost will ever be. I wouldnt mind this as long as the habs dont lose this asset for nothing in the future.

Does LA have reasons to think that frolov bolts to the KHL next season? Just thought I'd throw that in.

Whats the point of posting ek rumors anymore? I don't get it. It just builds your hopes up until you see its Eklund then its a big letdown.

eklund rumor or not here is one thing.. frolov would look great in a habs uniform.

Plek( or halak) , weber, and a 2nd for ( frolov)

Anyone know if frolov can play center or is he just a pure winger?

An impending UFA who will be looking for his career contract next summer.

5-7 years @ 6+ M$/yr

I love the guy but we won't have the $$ to keep him and I'd rather not lose any assets for 1 year of Frolov.

Your proposal gives us too many wingers and an even bigger hole at center. Next time, please think before proposing.

That's why it says "Eklund" in the thread title. Get over it, and don't open the thread if your only desire is to complain.

This.

I would love for this trade to happen.

5-7 years at 6+, no way

unless he outscores ovechkin and malkin this year, there is no way he is getting 6+ maybe something like 4 4.5 and don't forget, in the trade we will be sending some salary back, so yes we can extend his contract, if he is not hudler-like greedy.

if the KHL can give 5 mil per season for hudler, frolov will be offer 7 or more, hah, hope not
