Watching Flyers games from outside the local area

I live in Washington and I want to watch all the Flyers games. Is this possible and if so which service should I get?

That's what I figure my best bet is but they say you get up to forty games a week. I assume there are more than forty NHL games each week so do they let you choose which games you see? I'd hate to get it but not get some Flyers every few weeks.

I'm in Chicago and have used a combo of Center Ice / NHL Network to get all the games for the past 2 seasons. The NHL Network tends to steal games late in the season, so it was a frustrating surprise when i first realized i needed to order it as well.

My only complaint is that you very rarely get CSN-Philly broadcasts, so have to put up with the other team's crew reiterating the same story every single match. I think we only had 3 or 4 last year from CSN-P...

I think the better question is where can you get the free online streams?

Justin.tv sometimes.

All I can say is that you have to do mad research every game to find something.

www.hockeystreams.com is by far the best place to watch NHL hockey, all games live and then available from an archive. Most games in HD quality, just connect your tv. No restrictions, and prices are just 1/3 of NHL Center Ice. That's right, it isn't free...but cheap

I gave that site a thought last season, but I didn't feel comfortable paying a bunch of monies for something that's unofficial.

Is that site really much better than ESPN360?
I mean, what'd happen if the NHL dropped the gloves and challenged hockeystreams.com?

I don't know if it's legal in the US, and I don't care. But I do know it's located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and US laws do not apply there. I understand they got thousands of members.

I've been a member for two seasons and I'm very pleased with it, no problems at all. I did have technical problems with 360, it's more expensive and quality not that good. Hockeystreams also include preseason, playoffs, World Championships and Olympic tournament. Easy choice for me.

DC-area resident here

Since I moved to the DC area 8 years ago, I've been getting NHL Center Ice package. While pricey, it is definitely the way to go if you want every Flyers game. Like another poster said, you don't get many CSN-Philly feeds.

If you have family in Philly, you could install a Slingbox on their cable so you can get a personal stream of the local feeds. I usually watch the games on NHL CI (so I can take advantage of the DVR), and when I'm in the mood watch the pre/post games over the Slingbox.

One nice thing is this past year they added an HD channel to CI, so some of the games have been on that. So between CI HD, VS HD, and NHL Network, you can get quite a few games in High Definition.

Hope this helps.

The Slingbox is great. I put on on the TV in my parents spare room. Got to watch every game while I was at school.

JTV was no big secret, it's been around for years and I'm sure the NHL already knows about it.

Jtv actually stopped allowing NHL games to be shown later in the season. I think some people still showed them though on occasion.

Center Ice all the way, been getting it for years. Goes great with the 50" and dvr.

Like eroth said, the downside is being forced to listen to guys like Edwards and Steigerwald. I jump for joy when I actually get to hear the Flyers crew.

Get outta here, everyone knows about these sites. Posting the link here is going to have little impact on any of these sites getting shutdown.

Though a lot of people do know about them a lot of people still don't as shown by the fact that people ask including in this thread. I think its better to be more cautious and just pm people you trust the link.

The NHL scours HFBoards looking for links to sites they need to shut down. Fact.
