I've always had a bad taste in my mouth regarding Kane ever since I saw the way he carried himself at a few local bars while here for the World Championships in Halifax.

Arrogant, pompous ass. I hope they throw the book at him.

Here's the best line...

Quote:
He said at the time he was happy to have time "to hang out back home in Buffalo."

"The best thing about it is my friends treat me like I'm a regular kid," said Kane, the first overall pick in the 2007 NHL draft. "They don't treat me like a celebrity or whatever they might treat me like in Chicago."
From http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=287230

I guess he doesn't use the "don't you know who I am?" line to his friends. Ha!ha!

i've experienced every degree of ****faced-ness to the point where i've actually survived getting alcohol poisoning and i'm a pretty agressive dude to begin with and i've never even come close to doing something like this. Leads me to believe he was on something else at the time.

First thing that sprang to my mind TBH was roids.

Even Georges Laraque is a vegan...
i don't want to pretend to know what the NHL monitors or doesn't, or when they do or don't. But i've been in a position to see people on roids and depending on how bad the sides are, they can lose their **** pretty quick. Other times there's little to no side effects on mood.

I thought laraque was a vegan because he was one of those anti-animal cruelty dudes. Wouldn't think it would be much concern to him to use roids. Not that i think he is, i also know a lot of people who got just as big naturally.

Exactly. Laraque has stated in interviews that he's naturally so big and strong, he barely even touches the weights and does a lot more cardio. No matter how many roids you take, if you're not working out you'll never become so massive.

While we're on this doping subject, last summer I heard that Plekanec began shooting himself up with estrogen

if they were drunk I could see a situation where the cabbie was trying to rip them off. It has happened to my friend and I when we were coming home from the bar. We were both ****faced and i was passed out and the cabbie got "lost" on purpose and drove around until my buddy told him to quit ****ing around. we only paid 20 but the fare was more than that for sure.

To not put Kane in prison would be a miscarriage of justice, should his guilt be confirmed... as I said, taxi drivers are vulnerable. To not give Kane the max is to declare open season on taxi drivers.

Hm, just thought of a different take. I know there was talk of this $100 bill, what if they handed it the cabbie and he tried to keep it. Still no excuse for what they allegedly did, but it would offer us a bit more of a reasonable explanation, especially if he knew who he was.

Kane should spend time in jail and pay a good sum of restitution to the cab driver.
I saw the cabbie on the news last night and he got beat up pretty good.
This kid is on the cover of NHL 10 for fack sakes.
He is supposed to be a role model thousands of kids that watch the NHL and play their video games.

I can't imagine what massive distraction this would be going in training camp if a Canadiens player had done this. I'm remembering all the crap a year ago about Laraque for not showing up to the golf tournament because he doesn't like golf.

You do know how this is going to go down....

Kane's cousin is going to take the fall for him, claim it was all him, and that Patrick had nothing to do with the alleged robbery/assault. Take one for the family, and he'll be taken care of. Might do <1 year time, or no time at all, suspended sentence, and community service.
