He'll get a fine, community service and a fake apology instead of what he deserves. Wait a minute, if Avery gets 7 games for name calling, Kane should get 6 months for assault.

Where is the outrage from the league?

Can people really not figure out why a cabbie had 100 dollars on him? That's hilarious. ITS TO MAKE CHANGE, do you think he has some secret dropbox that he throws his money into after each person he picks up.

I wonder what would be the reaction if the off-ice actions of alot of NHL players were reported...while this particular (alleged) act is dispicable, i've seen things which make this pail in comparison

Hate to make a generalization, but alot of professional hockey players aren't blessed with the best social behaviour, unfortunately.

Most of them are classy and respectful men. Some are ****ed up by their fame, sadly.

Exactly what I thought when I saw this. Kane's cousin will coincidently get a nice multi-million dollar christmas present this year...

1 pro athlete actually... not that it makes a huge difference, but for the sake of accuracy...

Anyways, the image is "related" in the sense that the handsome devil in the black/red trunks is Kane, a professional wrestler, and he is laying the smack down on some guy.... hence "Kane lays the smack down on..."

Hermamound never said the story reminded him of pro wrestling, he said the title made him think of Kane (pro wrestler) chokeslamming someone... No need to come out and bash him in your quest for ultimate social justice...

What Kane did is of course wrong. I'm sure he really does not need that 20 cents.

Just because hes a professional athlete does not mean he has to be a goody-good. He is human, everyone does stupid stuff. Most people in there life do stupid stuff. Everyone makes mistakes. Hes a young kid. But like I said over 20 cents is just ridiculous.

I'm not gonna jump on the "I hate Kane" Bandwagon.
Like I said in a earlier post, he could be like an NFL player and carry weapons, caught with dope, shooting people (or himself.)

He made a big mistakes, now hopefully he can put this behind him and still be a great player, mistakes can make people a better person. I hope nothing like this happens again.

Kane is still one of my favorite players. Its a shame all this happened over chump change. But not everyone can be perfect, even if there professional athletes.

Whatever though these are my thoughts, no one is going to agree with me.

I saw the cabbie on the news last night and he got beat up pretty good.
This kid is on the cover of NHL 10 for fack sakes.
He is supposed to be a role model thousands of kids that watch the NHL and play their video games.
Seriosuly? grow up.
How much time should he spend in jail?

Donte Stallworth got 30 days in jail for driving drunk and killing someone. So Kane should get what? 10 days in jail. Like I said in other posts, he should be a good role model but he is human. Everyone makes mistakes. This **** is getting way outta control.

As it has been pointed out on the national hockey board, there is probably an out-of-court settlement in the work...

My take on this story:

I don't think what he did should be condoned, nor belittled. I've been hammered many times (whether he was or not is another question) and never felt the need to steal and punch a cab. So if he wasn't drunk, it seems even worse to me (but just as wrong). Any normal guy would have to face the consequences of doing such an act and he should be hold to the same standard as your normal citizen. But anyway, money buys freedom.

Grow up?
Get real already.

If he gets nothing at all, all it proves is that you can do what ever you want and get away with it if you have money.
If Stallworth, wasn't a pro athlete he would have got 5 years in jail not 30 days.

Well jail time for what he did is nuts.
Community service would be the ideal thing to do.

One of those things are bound to happen to an NHL player eventually...

Since it's in the states you may be right. In Canada I doubt he'd ever see the inside of a cell.

wonder why, it's not like he did something good or anything... stiking up for the guy who throwed the punches, instead of the person who was on the receiving hand of the said punches...

says a lot about the kind of person you are IMO...
