you bolded the word center in your post pointing out my spelling mistake...

as I am multi-tasking, and quickly reading these, I saw the bolded word...so I thought that was what you were referring to...the multi-tasking is also the reason I spelled genius wrong, as I type quite fast.

but you get a gold star from my former English teacher

well, usually I am accurate at spelling...I even use tomato and potato!

but I may do it again due to speed of typing etc.

now I am dropped to 7.0C

Again, just my 2 cents

I am huge on RUndblad. He will be 3 or 4 years off but STL picked a gem. He is a defenceman and STL has the roster to afford keeping him in development for the needed time.

no, you bolded the word center in the original post. I changed nothing in the quote.

indeed, I see what you mean...it just appeared that way since I made the initial post, went out and did some things, returned to see yours...and forgot I bolded it...

yes, the genius thing is ironic and funny...certainly...but, if you don't mind...at some point can we return to hockey discussions?

or is there anything else regarding typing you'd like to address

I hope some of you understand that boom/bust prospect is relative to the safety of the pick, rather than what you think the player will eventually be. IE Schenn is a safe pick, so he probably wouldn't be eligible for this thread. But his ceiling isn't that high as some other guys. He will make the NHL, either as a 2nd line center or a grinder.

Schroeder is well suited for this thread. He has a higher ceiling the Schenn (possibly) but he has a greater potential for not making the NHL at all.

There aren't prospects that are "boom" prospects or "bust" prospects. Regarding this thread, a prospect is boom/bust or safe.

Is it really that difficult?

I agree with what you think, but this kid just turned 18 2 weeks ago. I think he has good potential to be a solid defensive dman in the future. From rookie camp reports he was very good with the stick and body but lacked positioning. I think time will tell and he will eventually turn out as a solid 3/4 dman

Going a little off the board here but watch Anton Rodin have a great career.

Boom - Dmitry Kulikov ( Most QJMHL analysts say he was NHL ready last year. At least his positioning and PP play. Maybe not a regular, but still. )
Louis Leblanc ( I might be a bit homeristic on this one, but I think people way underestimate him. )
Nazem Kadri ( First Leaf star since Mats Sundin. Will hurt us often. )

Bust - Jordan Schroeder ( Skilled, but small and is a bit of a headcase. )
Ryan Ellis ( Gut feeling )

That said, this is pure speculation.

Speculati ... wait, you ... good idea, keep the time machine secret, others will only turn against us otherwise. Pretend we don't really know everything.

Holland seems to a boom or bust guy. Good skills, package but will he ever put it together?

i think schenn will be a bust but only relative to where he was drafted. i could see him becoming a serviceable 2nd/3rd liner but nothing great.

Just a question for everyone how are you arriving at ypur decision is it a gut feeling, something you have read, or have you seen these guys play? I am curious because I think it is silly to make boom or bust statements without some form of backup to show why.

Boom: Kulikov..Or should I say Andrei Markov Pt. 2

Bust: Ellis..I just see him struggling at the NHL level with his size..Its one thing for a forward to succeed with that size, but Defense is a whole other ballgame.

i started laughing when i saw this because his username is BriscomikCammagiomez.....If you have a thing against small skilled players, then you dont want to be a Montreal fan for a few years.....and Jordan Schroeder is a headcase? you talk like you know him, or was this from the few reviews you read about him and his interviews?

I won't even answer to this, all you do on these boards is trash Leblanc and the habs whenever you can. Just because some small players make it to the NHL doesn't mean all of them will translate their game well to the big league. I just stated my opinion, like the thread asked for.

No kidding, everybody here that puts Leblanc in the bust section is just proof that they're just pulling players out of their butts to fill the thread, kinda sad actually.

Thats not a fair comment, although its probably true for SOME people. Same with Kadri for SOME people.

There are players that people will think will bust. Not everyone will agree.

Rajala... I've never been high on him. I think he won't go far at all. Would Edmonton be upset at me if I say that he busts?

Or Ryan Ellis... I've never thought that his game could translate into the NHL. Predators fans would be upset that I think Ellis might Bust.

Schreoder... I've never been high on him. Canucks fans think that he'll be thier star winger. I don't think he'll be a sucsessful NHL player. They're upset about that.

You get where I'm getting at. I'm not hating on the prospects.... Its just that I've never thought they'd translate their sucsess into the NHL.
