Hmm Doyle or Weise who will win? I'm
Going to say Doyle. And I think our pool is deep considering Doyle and Weise are very good prospects imo

Chad Johnson. Doyle (who will either be much higher on this list or off it completely this time next year) is next.

Add Gaulton, for crying out loud.

Eh...Doyle. Zaborsky or Owens next. It's hard this late in the game.

Add Mitch Gaulton.

Weise add Soryal.

Kind of funny that Johnson hasnt been mentioned yet as he was up for the Hobey Baker last season, the same award Gilroy won who is up in the top-10. Interesting.

Ha, very true. Just odd that he hasnt gotten as much publicity as Gilroy because he was up for the same award and is younger than Matt.

It's just much easier to contribute as a D than G. A below average D takes regular shift during playoffs. An average one also plays on special teams. A below average goalie sits on the bench during the playoffs. An average one never gets past first or second round. As soon as the team improves, he had to be dumped.

Think of it this way. In 1994, Glenn Healy was a much better athlete than Doug Lidster, but Lidster contributed much more vs. The Debbies and the Cans.

I've been voting for him the past 5 rounds lol.

Ocho Cinco again

This board seems to have a love affair with Doyle/Hagelin, can someone give me the low-down?

Hagelin is a Swedish forward at Michigan entering his third year. He's an excellent skater and very responsible defensively. Personally, I think he has decent offensive upside. That's a point of contention though and what holds him back from being ranked higher. People often compare him to fellow Swede Freddie Sjostrom, which seems like a reasonable comparison. Again, I think he'll develop more offense than that (based on his above average vision), but not everyone is buying it.

Chris Doyle plays in the QMJHL. He had 72 points in 59 games last season, though he was scoring at a much higher pace before injuring his back just after the middle of the season. He has good offensive awareness and a ridiculous shot. He's also feisty, but prone to taking dumb penalties. The big knocks on him are poor conditioning and a questionable attitude. He was once considered a high round pick, but fell to us in the fifth round last season.

I only know about this guy from what I've read, never seen him play a single game. Everything I read seems to reiterate that same point and to me sounds like the exact things people were saying about Korpikoski a few years back. If he continues to be able to compete at higher levels and we end up with a kid like that, I'd be more than happy.

I voted Doyle... His numbers are worthy of a 2nd round pick, but all I've heard is criticism since the Rangers took him on the 5th round a year ago. It doesn't bode well that he wasn't in the prospect camp this summer. Was he not invited?

Add Soryal... He needs at least another year of seasoning, but I would've rather handed the enforcer job to him right now rather than signed a rapidly declining 37-year-old Brashear to a 2-year deal.
