Ryan Ellis

Do you guys think there is any chance of him still growing height wise?? Maybe he is due for a growth spurt?? He is only 18 right.

It was written that if Ellis had been 6 feet tell, he would have been taken first in this past draft, but his size scared people off.
We may have another very elite defensemen on our hands here guys...

He would not have been taken first, but he might have went 4-6. I would say he is probably done growing, BUT, he is already at 173. If he adds 15 pounds, a 5'9 188 pound defenseman may be short, but he would be built like a tank. I think he will be fine.

He could hit 5' 10 maybe 5' 11. I had a friend that went into the Marine Corps at 18 and was barely 5'9", by the time he got out he was close to 6'.

And I don't remember which NFL qb but one of them was tiny when he was in hs but ended up being over 6'. So growth spurts do still happen after 18 but not usually. I think most males stop growing between 18-20.

He's saying he can grow a beard quickly, or thickly (I didn't see it...) therefore he's past the age where he'll have a growth spurt. Or he's using a bad beard to joke that it's so thick that he's too old. He's not saying anything about his hockey skills.

And it was just joking around anyway.
