$1.3 for 2 years for Ladi is a good deal for us. Now we need to shed some salary from the blueline.

His only other choice being the KHL, I'm sure he'll give the 2-way one last go.

1.3?

Pretty steep for a player of his calibre.

Serious overkill. Brule deserves a shot on the 4th line at least.

No. I think it is fair. He is an established nhler. He isnt some washed up 7th dman or fringe nhler.

I'm beginning to think that you don't follow this team very closely.

It has the potential to be a great deal if Ladi plays on the second pairing this year, and gets more PK time. Hard to go wrong at 1.3MM.

I think Ladi took a discount to play here, especially for the second year. Love his attitude, both at the negotiating table, and on the ice:

Pretty great signing by Tambo.

Well there are only so many Vandermeer's at 2.3 mill and Sarich's at 3.6 million to go around you know. We have to keep up with the competition.

How come a flames fan spends so much time at the Oilers board?

I dont think we want to go contract matching with anyone (maybe the Rangers). Thats like bringing a water pistol to a gun fight.

Oh I know that quite well. Walken just loves to come in here and criticize all things Oiler related and apparently everything the Flames have ever done comes up roses.

Because there aren't enough Flames fans on HF to fill a McDonalds drive through let alone carry on conversations. Not to mention maybe he's been outcast by the others? By his posts here would that really be a surprise

Getting buried in the first round when the ground is fresh will do that.

Because he's not welcome anywhere else.

His posting history screams obvious troll.

Bottom pairing.

He's not 'fringe', but I think top or second pairing minutes is beyond him. If he is playing second/first pairing minutes, the Oilers will be in trouble.

I won't say it's a great deal, but it is fair value all around. And to think there were people who thought Smid would be commanding upwards of $2M.

Sarich is a pretty good comparison for on ice play except Ladi rushes the puck better and skates better.

I would venture it would be almost impossible to find an Oiler fan who doesn't think Smid has the potential to be a top 4 guy by next year.

I've had plenty of conversation with Flames Fans in the McDonalds Drive Thru...its just that they are talking to me through the speaker on the menu.

On skill...hell yes...but its a bit tougher when you actually try and pair everyone up.

That being said...if Smid is paired with Lubo on the #1 set of Oiler D-men...I'm all good with that.
