This. I know it's more realistic, but it just makes everything more complicated and confusing, and they always end up getting missed/ignored anyway.

Islanders sign Steve Eminger to a 2 year contract

The Islanders have signed 25 year old defensemen, Steve Eminger to a 2 year, 2 way contract. Eminger will receive 1.3 million per year. The Islanders GM had this to say: We saw the opportunity to add a good young defensemen in Steve Eminger to our club and with a 2 way contract if things dont work out we will send him down. So really its a low risk-high reward move. He will start the season in the NHL and we will try to give him an adequate amount of ice time to prove himself.

I think if a team is going to make a trade they should send it to you for approval, you don't want something too farfetched to go down

Avalanche Add More Firepower

The Avalanche announced late Wednesday night that they had made their second singing of the day, inking star sniper Nikolai Zherdev to a one year deal worth $5.5M. This signing comes only hours after the organization had announced that they had inked former Avalanche Alex Tanguay to a six-year deal.

SHAKE-UP IN SAN JOSE...

The San Jose Sports and Entertainment Enterprises have fired Doug Wilson as General Manager of the Sharks. The move came surprising to Sharks Fans across California...Tom McEnery of the Sports and Entertainment Enterprises said "We were promised by Doug Wilson to change the entire outlook of the team, both on paper and philosophically, but he did nothing over the summer and we weren't going to wait for him to finish it." To take Wilson's place, the SJS&E Enterprises hired JS, who will manage his first NHL team. "I finally get my opportunity to manage a team, I hope to shatter our image as perennial underachievers and change it into legitimate contenders. If that means trading our (former) captain (Marleau)...So be it."

Since GM JS and McLellan wanted a huge shake-up, and they got their wish...they've appointed Dan Boyle to be the franchise's 10th captain.

GM JS responded by saying "you won't see either Thornton or Marleau reclaiming the C or A just because they're star players. They'll have to work their butts' off...or be traded if they can't handle the new system. We thought Boyle can throw people under the bus, and also blame himself and push himself harder to get improvement. Expect surprising A's announcements."

MORE CHANGES TO BE EXPECTED IN SAN JOSE...
Newly Hired General Manager JS is now looking for a new home for Jonathan Cheechoo.

General Manager JS believes that Cheechoo can still be the former 50 goal guy, all he needs in a change of scenery and a team willing to slot him in the top-6 lines. General Manager JS says "I won't overprice Cheechoo...but I will accept a tough guy (3rd liner) with a cheap contract and mid 2nd round pick/or a prospect."

GLAD TO ADD A NEW TOP 6

The Montreal Canadiens are glad to announce that they have completed a deal for a new top 6 Right Winger to play with Sundin. Marek Svatos should add some depth to our RW and we hope he puts up big numbers with our organization.

Dusty GM had this to say...

"Although we lose a great 2 way defenseman that i recently acquired, I feel that adding Svatos is more important for us. We needed to add more goal scoring up front and that we did. Now I begin my hunt for another defenseman to replace spacek."

EKLUND: The Blues have interest in Ovechkin and Seidenberg. Expect them to either trade for Ovechkin OR sign Seidenberg. Not both. (e3)
