Chris Higgins comes home to firefighter dad & cop brother

This article will appear in Sunday's NY Daily News

Chris Higgins brother is a member of the NYPD. We knew his father was in the FDNY.

We knew the father was a huge Canadien fan and he had an interesting reaction to the trade

Quote:
And what was Bobby Higgins' first reaction? "Heartbroken," he says. It took time to absorb the fact that his beloved Canadiens had traded away his son - he was driving when he heard the news and had to pull his car over - but once it sunk in, a picture began to emerge: three Higgins men working the night shift in New York City, all decked out in a shade of blue
Quote:
"At the end of the day, that's an absolute thrill," Bobby says. "As a family, I've felt we've been a little fractured with (Chris) being up in Montreal those years. He's home now, and I count that as one of our blessings."

My friend's dad worked with Bobby Higgins for a long time. Says he's a great guy and they're a great family.

So he is pretending to be a die-hard Habs fan for what benefit exactly? What does his father have to gain right now by pretending to be a Habs fan?

Some one who had claimed to be Chris Higgins brother was on the forums a while ago, maybe he could confirm or deny rumors about team allegiance.

But besides that I hope all the best for Chris here and his family while working. Very good people from what I have heard.

Yeah, that's Kev, I think. I can't remember his username right now though.

Hey

I was wondering as to how long before someone put the article up here, was anticipating some remarks about how Im the better looking Higgins brother, hopefully those come soon hahah.

Its true that my father was a die hards habs fan, for a long long time. He put all his habs gear and stuff away and is now a ranger fan. The Higgins family has converted from ole ole ole to the broadway blueshirts.

Kev

Agreed, Ranger fans are temperamental and sometimes lack common sense. But from what I hear and know, hes a more offensive version of Callahan, so he should fit right in.

Glad to have Chris!

can we wait til this guy shows something before we give 3+ million over 3 years? I like what he can possibly bring as much as the next ranger fan but lets calm down a bit.

Nice little story, I certainly hope Higgins rebounds. I still question the logic here in Montreal behind the entire revamping of the roster considering with the injuries and enormous pressure to win on the 100th season that the whole need could not rebound however it remains to be seen. Ranger fans couldn't be happier of course with no more Gomez.

I don't think many of us realize what a great player we acquired here in Higgins. He's my favorite addition we've made this off-season.
