I can't believe some of the responses on the Rag$ board about Drury and his injury. WOW.

What are they saying? There is 11 pages of Rags chatter and I don't feel like reading through it all.

How they are better off without him and that its good he is out of the lineup. The guy just ****ing got knocked the **** out. They seem to give two *****, even if it one of theirs or even better, their captain.

Interesting, because the 'Cotton Candy' thread on that same board is filled with people pissed because there was no retaliation for the hit.

That's pretty bad. Sure he isn't worth what he is making, but no team is better without Chris Drury. He adds so much when it comes to defense, leadership, faceoffs, and more. Bunch of ungrateful ********. We would have thrown a parade if we signed anyone of that caliber.

Hahha. There is some funny (well not really funny, but you know what I mean) **** on there. iIn all fairness there are a bunch of guys there who actually look past his scoring and understand that he makes the team better.

That is pretty sweet. The Interface is a bit slow & they don't explain how it knows how much ice is in the cup/what if you're getting a refill and you just want a half a cup etc/what if you're one of those weirdos who mixes different flavors. but it's still awesome. The future is here.

i'm a bit fascinated with this coke machine. i've looked up more info & it turns out you have to hold the pour button to pour, so you have full control & you can mix and match flavors if you're one of those weirdos who likes to do that.

Once I get passed the guy's creepy eyes and how he annunciates every word, that coke machine is really cool. I'd love to have one of those in my house. (And yes, I'm one of those "weirdos" who like to mix flavors).

Having watched the Rag$ all year long, I am very impressed with Gaborik. I never realized how good of a HOCKEY player he is aside from his offense. I always thought he was a pure sniper, but he also has great hands and an excellent passing game. He is also much faster than I thought. I knew he could skate, but he flies. He has also been on the PK and has been very good defensively too. If he can stay healthy, he can be some player.

re: Optimum Rewards Islanders VIP Experience

Anyone else participate in this contest the last few weeks? It ended last night. I logged massive hours on this Tetris clone. Hoping I was able to snag a top spot or close to.

The reward was pretty impressive and should be annouced within a few days.

1st place (1 game VIP)

8 person luxury suite
limo service to and from the game
$500 credit for food/drinks service
2 people get to hang out on the bench during warmups
plus some other stuff I forget...

next 10 runner ups would be awarded 4 tickets to a game or something to that affect..

she was upset that was a picture from a fitness magazine that she previously did a article with. Probably another magazine that owns this mag. She is unhappy that a picture that she claims is too sexy for a business magazine front cover? It is ok to be on the inside of that other mag but not appropriate as a front cover for a business mag? Huh? She is not wearing anything too revealing. Come on

On another note, my brother bet me $100 that she would not run for the presidency in 2012. I told him that she would (not that she would get nominated as the republican rep for the presidency or even if she would run as an independent), just that she would attempt to run for the presidency in the republican primaries. This will be the easiest $100 i ever made.

Let's move along and not turn this into a babe thread or political. Thanks!

I don't mean to undermine Sal here; this isn't babe-thread-ish per se, but if this is too close I'm sorry, go ahead and delete it. Anyway, yes, she is calling the use of that picture sexist due to it's different context, and to be honest, I'd agree. After all, that picture in a fitness magazine is worlds different than that picture in a general, "this woman is causing issues" article. With that said, the REAL issue here is the fact that the guy who sold Newsweek that picture was contractually obligated to leave it a Runners World exclusive for a year. A screw up like that means that he'll probably be out of a J-O-B.

I'm relieved it wasn't her people who submitted the photo.

More importantly, this is the "lounge" thread and is as close to off-topic as we have. Where else would we discuss current events? Clearly, if this is on the local news, it can be discussed here.

What usually happens as history dictates is it becomes a political discussion. If we can keep it clean and unpolitical then by all means discuss. Do not turn this into a babe thread. I am all for open discussion, so continue on.

Questions to the teachers on here:

Are your districts giving the H1N1 vaccine in school? How do you feel about it? Can faculty and staff recieve the vaccine as well?

My district is doing this and it's not going over well, and was curious to see if this is going on in other districts.

Thanks!!
