Anyone see this **** about Hofstra? They just canceled their football program.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/co...3_hofstra.html
Having gone there.....now they have more money to spend on statues, benches and all the gahbage I looked at on the way to classes (at $1,200 per class) and hopefully by now they instituted a policy mandating that ANY geriatric professor with 60+ students in class MUST USE A MICROPHONE for those in rows 3-30.

Not very familiar with soccer. England is pretty good, no? Not too sure of Slovenia and Algeria. Not a big fan of the sport, but I do tune in to the World Cup when the U S is on. Who would be the favorite?

or

has anyone used coolhockey.com i am looking to buy a tavares jersey and there it costs 158
I get all my jersey from their. NHL Quality and I used to know a code to get free shipping on orders > $100 but now I forgot and I think they disabled it.

But, seriously I was pimping this site on these boards for months. They do excellent, fast work for cheap.

England is above average. I don't believe Slovenia or Algeria are threats to advance into the later rounds so I think the US has an excellent chance of getting in.

this. US likely won't beat England, although anything is possible. But if they don't get out of this group, it will be a shock. Then again the U.S. soccer team has been good at being underwhelming in World Cup play (1998 is a good example).

Potvin relating to our core as very similar to the 70's on NHL power play for the NHL network.

Stevens fired as head coach of the Flyers, Laviolette in. Should be fun meeting up with that team a few more times this season!

I know that ESPN's hockey coverage can't be trusted for anything, but on their "trophy tracker" page, John Tortorella is currently listed as the frontrunner for the Jack Adams award.

None of the groups look particularly competetive for this tourney, but I guess the games still need to be played so anything can happen. But yes, I can't wait either!

Yea he had a very good reason. He said he couldn't fit it into his budget. Meanwhile, his brother tells me last week he just bought a ps3.

By the way... check your phone when you can. Wait til you see the text I sent you. You will blow a load from here to St. Louis.

World Cup is awesome. I was working in Germany in '06 and it was damn near the best summer of my life. Such a blast. Imagine Game 7 NHL Playoffs intensity except EVERY single person (as opposed to just hockey fans) you see on the street on any given day lives and dies with every game. Incredible.

Anyway, last I checked- Spain is favored (Euro 2008 Champions) with Brazil and perhaps Holland the next in line. Germany ALWAYS plays well in big tournaments too (World Cup, Euro, etc.).

As has been said... the US should get out of the group stage this year at least....

Martin, Katic,

What are the chances of Matty Martin and Mark Katic getting a cup of coffee this season? Marty really deserves it IMO. Katic is one of the smoothest skaters I have ever seen. And How is Dibo doing?
