Sharks are making "realitively significant" deal

yeah!!! my very first Eklund Rumour:

what do you guys think of this

talking to an NHL source I am told that the Sharks are on the verge of making a "relatively significant" deal that would help clear the cap space needed to get them back into the Heatley game. The deal I am told may be with Dallas ot Buffalo...

more on this as information comes in tonight and in the morning.

Probably Cheechoo or Lukowich. If it's anyone else, I'm likely to be pissed as DW continues to ruin the team.

It'd have to be a damn good deal for Dallas to help San Jose clear cap space, I can't see the Stars being too interested.

I dont know if the sharks r goin after dany heatley then i see them trading patrick marleau i hope its not true, but it would make sense first taking away captaincy from him and then trading him i would hate Doug Wilson if he did that but if he is goin to
i hope its to the oilers

Actually it wouldn't, taking the C away publicly would lower his value.

The title isn't wrong. Sharks will make a deal. The significance of the deal is in the eye of the beholder. Whether it's to Dallas or Buffalo or not remains to be seen but it's a no-brainer that San Jose will be making a move since they have to lose about 4.5 mil to get situated with a full roster and be under the cap. However, unless it's Marleau getting moved, Dany Heatley isn't going to happen.

Marleau has to know that he likely will not be named instant Captain of any team he was dealt to so I doubt him having the C taken from him would make him waive his NTC anyway.

i dont know its kind of a slap to the face, to be told ur not not good enough leader to be the captain of the team anymore and we dont know if anything eles happened in side the team to lead to this it could mean a waiving his NTC to go to a place where is wanted more IMO

If he didn't see something like this coming, he's pretty dense then.

I will say the same thing to this as I said to people who complained about Elias having the C stripped from him in New jersey by Sutter...It was something that neither can really question at the time it happened. But I can understand them being upset about it in terms of the spirit of compettion.

Elias has played some of his best hockey since having that lifted from his shoulder.

The Devils are in dire need of a Center. More so then any other position. Marleau would be a perfect fit and it makes a lot of sense. I hope Lou can swing a deal for him.

It happened to Mike Modano, and he survived. Some guys just donít fit the captain mold. Dallas had a different spirit with Morrow leading the way. His ACL tear made it more obvious. Itís probably a smart move by SJ.
