No way. Lasu is more of a pest/grinder type like Cormier or Paquette. He's probably more skilled than Paquette and less so than Cormier. He had great stats in the U20 league but he doesn't project as an NHL scorer.

Euro Prospect Update

From the report, it looks like all 4, with Klingberg having a chance at being an exception, will hopefully play bottom 6 rolls for the Thrashers.

Some of the highlights:

Quote:
Klingberg displays an extremely quick first step that is deceiving for a man of his size
Quote:
Enlund doesn’t wow you with speed or dazzle you with his moves, he just simply knows where to be and he gets there.
And lowlights:

Quote:
Zubarev would be a virtual lock to make the Thrashers in a top-four role if he made the jump from KHL to NHL. There is too much incentive for him to stay in Russia though.

Top drafted Finnish Forwards in Finnish League

Article talks about both Lucenius and Enlund. An interesting note is that they may both go to the KHL instead of coming over to play for the Wolves or Thrashers.

Morin's stats (not sure if they're including playoffs):

58GP 47G 36A 83Pts

The other player tearing it up on Kitchener...Headsigh's fav pick, Jeff Skinner. Hmmm...teammates? Could be good.....

#7 folks...

Not a bad future considering we're about to add a couple first rounders +. Hopefully Duds can put it together.

I guess it beats #27th and it gives us something to talk about but honestly? Meh. We've had good crops before but unless this potential can start doing something in Atlanta this is rather hollow.

Thrashers prospects in Junior article from HF

Pasquale actually interests me. Looking like he may become a serviceable NHL goalie, more likely a back up but still I like what I read.

The future for our bottom 6 looks promising as well.

I am still a little nervous about O'Dell panning out.

Our future looks great. And when we add either Nino or Johansen and another 1st round talent this draft, it will look greater.

Carozzi also has been very good, in fact was just named OHL goalie of the year.

I thinking that maybe Atlanta doesn't really need to use NJs pick to draft Jack Campbell.

How did Klinberg do this season? I can't find any stats from 09-10 for him.

Holy crap did Kitchener choke! Up 3-0 in the OHL semis they drop 4 in a row to Windsor to get bounced. Morin had an excellent tourney though. 12 goals, 9 helpers in 20 games.

FYI Ilya Nikulin named KHL's Gagarin Cup MVP (similial to Conn Smyte Trpophy in NHL). I don't know if he still really a prospect
By the way Nikulin's Ak Bars had beat in 7th game of the final HC MVD with very familiar guy in the net - Michael Garnett (best goalkeeper of this PO).

I shudder to think how the last handful of seasons may have been different if DW and co. could have convinced Nikulin to come over. Dude is an excellent d-man.

That's freakin awesome! A friend and I were trying to figure out what Garnett was up to these days.

I think nikulin has never had any intention of coming over. He's a big fish in a small pond over there.

Maybe some Dudley magic could make it happen this offseason.

You would think that he would at least contact all of the Euro owned Thrashers and find out their intentions for next season and whether they would consider coming over to amercia.

Besides, Nikulin is 28 now. We have a backup of d-men in the system. We know how Kulda and vishnevsky's collective games translate to North America. Nikulin....Who knows? Besides, sounds liek his attitude isn't the best anyway.

Can we trade his rights and get SOMETHING in return?

ya we choked pretty good but windsor has a far superior roster (including 2 of the likely top 3 in this summer's draft) and we were lucky to be up 3-0 as windsor badly outshot us every game. very strange series. this was actually much harder for me to swallow than the thrash missing the playoffs. my girlfriend and her family are from windsor and you can imagine how badly i was running my mouth after game 3...eating crow is so bitter.

Machacek has been great for the Wolves in the playoffs:

10GP 5G 4A 9 PTS

including 2 goals last night in a 5-3 win

Dudley has been watching Chicago closely during their playoffs. Gotta think this really helps the kid's chances (so far).

From the trades page:

Atlanta has signed Edward Pasquale, G, to a three-year entry level with an annual cap hit of $600,000. Pasquale, 19, had a G.A.A. of 3.17 and a Save PCT of .916 in 51 games with Saginaw of the OHL. He is a 4th round pick, 117th overall, in the Thrashers' 2009 draft.
