both Ed Pasquale and Chris Carrozi were in net for this game in CHL, thought it was interesting. Saginaw won 4-2, Telegin didn't tally though.

Holy mackeral! Didn't expect this at all. I'm interested in seeing what this kid is all about. What's next? An Ilya Nikulin signing?

Any background info on this guy? Hockeydb.com doesn't even have him listed.

Ah...thanks man. Maybe it's because I was spelling his name wrong.

Wow....This guy looks great.

From HF:

Quote:
2009-10: In his fifth season of pro hockey, Zubarev established his role as a full-time defenseman - appearing in 55 regular season games for Atlant and scoring 7 goals wih 9 assists and was +11 with 58 PIM. He also played in four playoff games with no points and 2 PIM and an even plus/minus.
Quote:
Talent Analysis

Zubarev is a solid defenseman and skates well with above average agility and acceleration. He is an above average puckhandler, but does not tend to keep the puck for long and hesitates to carry it up the ice. Zubarev has a strong shot but is not always accurate. He has an impressive physical component to his game.

I sent a PM off to the HF resident KHL expert. I'll wait to see if he confirms this. There have been too many bogus reports of the team signing Nikulin or Zubarev in the past for me to get excited until I see it on the team site.

If the Zubarev signing turns out to be legit its great for the team. If he has continued to progress from when I saw him play for the U-18s and WJC in 2007 he will certianally challenge Kulda and Postma for the 6th and 7th D man out of the gate (with Boris out).

Wow, I'd given up on ever signing him. This would be great news, and it would be especially great if he doesn't have a Klingberg klause that would let him return to Russia if he doesn't crack our basic composition. I doubt he would make our top-7 out of camp. He'd benefit from playing in Chicago and getting acclimated to North American hockey and rinks.

I think he has as much NHL potential as Kulda or Postma.

We have been teased before with an Ilya Nikulin signing before in the past... until an official and accreditted US source reports it, I am not holding my breath.

Zubarev's agent told SovSport the player received an offer of a two-way contract from the Thrashers. Zubarev is expected to sign by weekend.

Zubarev is a good guy, been progressing already won a title in Russia with Ak Bars. Atlant fans regret his departure. Nikulin just reuped with Ak Bars for 5 years, so forget this name for good)))

RE: 2010 Traverse City NHL Prospects Tournament

September 11-15th

The teams slated to be there are:

Rangers, Detroit, Atlanta, Carolina, St. Louis, Minnesota, Columbus and Dallas.

Drop the NHL Network an e-mail in regard to Traverse City. I was told last year, they may consider airing it again if they see a demand for it.

Will the team have to put a D-man on the "glass rod of failures" to make room for this guy?
