This is my first fantasy football draft so any helpful insight or thoughts on my team would be awesome.
it's not bad, problem is that other than stewart, i dont see much 'upside' on your bench. fantasy leagues are allways won on breakout players, so when one of your starters has injury problems or a bad matchup week, you want to have someone that you can plug in there.

If I were you i'd try to trade kyle orton (really no need to have 3qbs in a 1qb league) and dump a tight end to waivers, in favor of picking up someone with break-out potential. It all depends on who is available on waivers for you.

This week, if you are able to grab mike bell off waivers and start him in your flex over leon washington, he could pay off huge as he will see a ton of touches in the 2nd half against detroit, when NO should be way ahead and they wont want to risk injury to brees or bush.

if anyone wants to weigh in - i still have a flex conundrum: run DMC, Mike Bell (in NO vs DET), or Hines Ward

Should I start Chris Johnson against the Steelers or Ryan Grant vs the Bears?

Both are tough matchups. I'd say that the Titans will lean on Johnson to beat the Steelers whereas the Packers have a great pass game and could abandon the run. I'd go with CJ just because there is a better chance he will break off a big run or two.

Agreed.

Atlanta's defense will be big this year, especially in that weak division.

The only member of the division you can consider weak is Tampa. Carolina and New Orleans should be fighting for a playoff spot while Atlanta should be fighting for the #1 overall seed.

KC allowed a lot of rushing yards last year.

The wildcat won't be such a surprise this year so Brown might not do as much damage.

The Rams are going to be horrible again IMO and the Seahawks are at home against them. Seattle is a hard place to play in and the Seahawks' defense should be fired up.

Laveranues Coles should be on my bench in place of Steve Breaston.

He will likely out score Breaston IMO. Coles should be the number 2 where Breaston is the number 3

Out of Breaston, Coles, McFadden, Bradshaw, (and Moreno?), which two should sit?

Bradshaw and Moreno. Breaston is iffy too, but Warner spreads the ball around and they pass the ball a ton.

Who should I start in my flex position?

Jonathan Stewart (RB Car) vs. Philly

Fred Jackson (RB Buf) @ NE

Le'Ron McClain (RB Bal) vs. KC

Mushin Muhammed (WR Car) vs. Philly

I'm not sure here. Will Stewart get enough touches to make a dent against Philly (he's coming back from an injury and he's behind Deangelo Williams)? Is Jackson up to the task of replacing Lynch to open the season? Will McClain see the ball enough this year?

I'm leaning towards Jackson just because of the guaranteed touches, but what do you guys think?

I don't know about Jackson. If Buffalo is down by a lot, I can't see them running the ball too much.

I can't decide upon my RB2 spot, either

Mike Bell (vs Detroit, PT has been ruled out)
Peyton Hillis (vs Cincinnati, Moreno will be limited, Buckhalter's still there)
Donald Brown (vs Jacksonville)
Felix Jones (vs Tampa)

I'd go with Jackson. Stewart is just getting back from injury and his already limited touches will likely be further lessened. I thought McClain was the #3, and was going to lineup at FB.

I'd go Brown. He will probably get around 10 touches but should be the goal line RB.

Kudos to Brian Westbrook. Normally by week 5-6 he'll be on the weekly injury report the remainder of the season and have fantasy owners pulling hair trying to guess whether he'll be playing each weekend.

I note with some dismay he's off to an early start this year, hitting the report on week 1.

Quick questions:

Who to start at QB? Ryan vs Miami, or Hasselbeck vs St. Louis?

V. Jackson vs Oakland (vs Nnamdi Asomugha), Lance Moore vs DET, Anthony Gonzalez vs JAX, or Ginn Jr. vs ATL?

IMO, Ryan at QB and Jackson/Gonzales at WR.

I think you're going to see more running out of Seattle this year with Hasselbeck's numbers suffering. Good chance they'll be able to run successfully enough on the Rams also.

Thanks mouser, I've had Ryan and Jackson in slots all week, not going to stress out in week 1 and roll with them.

Ugh, I'm off to a terrible start this season.

Kurt Warner is blowing chunks, and both Chris Johnson and Steve Slaton did the same.
