So on my yahoo fantasy team I nabbed Aaron Rodgers in the 2nd round and was able to pick up Joe Flacco in the later rounds(guess everyone forgot about him). But after this past sunday I know Flacco only played the Chiefs and Rodgers the Bears but would Flacco possibly be a better fantasy option than Rodgers. I just have this feeling Flacco will be airing out the ball more often than Rodgers.
Its the first week, so lots of roster adjustments are going to need to be made.
My biggest dissapointments were probably Kurt Warner (still got decent points) and Steven Jackson.
My best offensive players were John Carlson in Seattle and hopefully Brady tonight.
My defense played great though, guys like Cedric Griffin in Minny and Atogwe in St. Louis helped me to third overall through Sunday...and i'll likely be 1st in the 8 team league after Brady passes for a few tonight.
My WR trio put up like 5 combined fantasy points. So gross. Steve Smith, Brandon Marshall and Anthony Gonzalez. Looks like I'm still going to win in week one thanks to Brees, Jones-Drew, K. Smith and Cooley.
Last year in Week 1, I got a ridiculous game out of a then unknown Eddie Royal to edge my old roommate. We matched up again this year in Week 1 and I had Chargers D to finish out the week. The Louis Murphy TD gave him a lead of less than two points. Chargers march down and take the lead again. Another buddy mentions "Maybe you'll get a junk interception on a Hail Mary?" Sure enough.......and I win 93.76 to 93.22
Any recommendations on who to play for week 2 games in a 12-team league:
QB: With McNabb out, I have to choose between Kolb, Leftwich, Bulger for a second quarterback. I'm leaning heavily towards Leftwich, but am considering Kolb. Bulger is a no-fly zone.
WR: I'm razor thin at this position thanks to Anthony Gonzalez injury and concentrating on other positions. I need to play two. Options are Steve Breaston (injured?), Bernard Berriam (injured?), Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, or Robert Meacham . Free Agents I'm considering include Manningham, Michael Clayton (TB), Laurent Robinson and Kenny Britt
That is tough. Sproles will get a lot of touches I think since LT is hurt but it is against the Ravens. Brown won't see as many touches IMO and that is against the Dolphins (I thought they have a good run D). I would go with Sproles personally because he has a chance to break more plays plus kickoffs.
I don't think much of Henderson the rest of the year. I could be totally wrong but that was the Lions they were playing. He is supposedly their #3 receiver (I thought Lance Moore was #2 but he didn't do anything last week). I would monitor him the next 2 weeks and then make a decision to see if he steals the 2 spot. Brees has so many weapons (Colston, Shockey, Bush, Moore, Henderson, Meachem).
Steven Jackson against Washington. That's who I would start. Bengals D as you said is pretty decent
Anyways I got a little WR dilemma, got Santana Moss, Percy Harvin, and Hines Ward. Who should I start?
Right now I'm leaning towards Moss and Harvin. Harvin is playing Detroit so I'm hoping he lights up that Detroit D lol...
Yeah i think i like your decision there... Hines is the best out of that group, but is facing the hardest team. Harvin should put up good numbers as im sure Favre will be gun slinging against an absolutely awful Detroit secondary. Moss is going up against St. Louis, and they are nothing special defensively....minus Otogwe. I'd say Harvin the sure bet, toss up between Moss/Ward.
